Feast of Unleavened Bread

Households of Faith – Principals of the Governmental Structure of the Households
Today’s Focus: Feast of Unleavened Bread
Scripture: Leviticus 23:6-8; 1 Corinthians 5:7,8

Greetings Kingdom Citizens
The feast of unleavened bread is the second aspect of Passover. The first aspect is the Passover itself with the sacrifice. Let me show you:

Leviticus 23:6-8: And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. In the first day ye shall have a holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do not servile work therein.

I would like to call the feast of unleavened bread the detoxification program of the Lord. We know the majority of times we see the use of leaven in scripture it refers to sin. Well the eating of unleavened bread is symbolic of the purging out of sin. This purging is a separation and consecration from Egypt which represents the world. Now when we talk about separation and consecration I am not speaking about being a nun or a monk. We are talking about living a sanctified life, a fasted life unto the Lord.

1 Corinthians 5:7-8: Purge out therefore the old leaven that ye may become a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sanctified for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

So when we celebrate the feast of unleavened bread and I am not talking about by law, I am talking about celebrating through grace we should be free from malice and wickedness. Now if that is the standard then why does it seem that the biggest fights happen within the 4-walled church. To be completely honest, we must understand that Satan has infiltrated the church and is causing confusion and separation. We tend to find ourselves arguing over our denominational doctrine and arguing who is right and who is wrong and all this does is further subdivide the church. Now, if someone is biblically wrong then correction should come and repentance should happen immediately. Moreover, God tells us to purge out the old leaven. This is the detoxification part of this feast. We must purge ourselves from the leaven of this world and separate ourselves for the divine purposes of the One whom created us.

In the next message we will look at the leaven we need to purge ourselves from in order to prepare ourselves for complete freedom.
