Golden Pot of Manna Part 2

Ark of the Covenant and the House of God
Today’s Focus: Golden Pot of Manna Part 2: The Reality
Scripture: Matthew 6:9-11; John 1:1,14; 6;33

Greetings Kingdom Citizens
Ok, we know that manna was bread that fell from heaven in Exodus. We know that manna is a type and shadow of the real bread that came from Heaven.

John 6:33: For the bread of God is He which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

So now we know that Jesus is the bread that comes from Heaven. But let me show you this because the Golden Pot of Manna represents something about the Lord Jesus Christ. We know that gold is a symbol of divinity and so the bread is contained within something that is divine. Let me show you this scripture and this scripture will tell you what the Golden Pot of Manna represents.

John 1:14: And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth.

Now we know this scripture refers to Jesus and we know that Jesus is the Word of God (John 1:1) but look what it says. It says the Word was full of grace and truth. In other words the Bread from heaven is full of grace and truth. The Golden Pot of Manna represents the Divine Grace that we are to partake of. Now there is no way I believe we can do a complete series that would encompass all that grace is, but we will do a teaching series on grace later. Now let’s make the link between bread and grace. Let’s look at the model prayer

Matthew 6:11: Give us this day our daily bread

Sound like a simple request but did we understand what we were asking for? The key word in this scripture is “daily”. The word daily in the Greek is “epiousios” which means subsistence. So in the prayer we are asking the Father to give us “this day”, not tomorrow, but this day our subsistence or the thing we need to live by. Now many take bread to be many things such as money, gas, car or daily provision but that is not what the prayer is about. We should be praying for our daily allotment of grace. Now I want to show you this analogy and we will continue to look at how we live by grace in the next message:

Question: Why do we eat an orange?
Do we eat it taste the juice and sweetness? Of course not. That is not why you eat and orange. You eat an orange to consume and get vitamin C that is necessary for the body. But in order to get the Vitamin C, you must eat the orange.

Hence in order to receive grace we must eat the bread that comes from heaven which is the Word of God. But how do we do that? We will look at this process in the next message. So the Golden Pot of Manna represents the Divine Grace that we live by.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,
