Households of Faith – Principals of the Governmental Structure of the Households
Today’s Focus: Passover: The Eternal Reality
Scripture: Exodus 12:1-8; John 6:53,54; 1 Peter 1:18-21; 1 Corinthians 5:7
Greetings Kingdom Citizens
We as the sons of God, who believe that Christ came and fulfilled the law should not be taking a little lamb and sacrificing it in that manner after the law. We are covered and under grace. So either we will live by the law or by grace. The law was a shadow of things to come. Christ came and fulfilled the law. If this is the case how does Spiritual Israel celebrate Passover and what is the principal behind it and how does it pertain to the households of faith.
In Exodus 12 we have the head of the household, the father, administrating the lamb through sacrifice, applying the blood of the Lamb to the doorposts of the house and feeding the family the cooked meat of the lamb. Now we know that the lamb is representing the Lamb who is Jesus Christ. So what do we have? We have in reality for the church, the father of a household who by faith in Jesus Christ, has applied the blood of the Lamb over his household. Apply the blood over any household, provides spiritual immunity over that household. In addition the father is feeding his family the meat of the Lamb which is the Word of God. Watch this word by the Lamb of God.
John 6:53-54: Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, Verily, I say unto you, except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
Jesus was not talking about being a cannibal but His flesh represents His Word because it is the bread that nourishes us and the blood is symbolic of the grace of God. So the eating of the lamb in Exodus is symbolic of eating the Word of God and His doctrine. The blood being applied to the doorpost is the grace of God given to the households to give them spiritual immunity from the wrath of God. Now watch the correlation of the Passover celebrated in Egypt and Jesus the Passover lamb.
In Egypt the lamb was brought into the households and was examine for 4 days. The Father kept the Lamb for 4,000 years (4 days). Jesus was examined by various people including Pilate and Herod for 4 days before He was crucified. And remember, they found no fault with Him symbolizing He was without spot or blemish. Jesus was crucified in the evening on the fourteenth day of the first month.
Jesus is our Passover lamb:
1 Peter 1:18-21: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers. But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
1 Corinthians 5:7: Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us:
So how do we keep the Passover eternally as the sons of God? When we have fathers heading households administrating the Lamb. This is the first principal. Remember Passover happens in Egypt or in the world and it is the celebration of the season of freedom for the anticipation of your deliverance from the world.
In the next messages we will look at the 3 feasts contained within Passover.
