Examining "I Have A Dream" Part 2

“The Dream” Series

Today’s Focus: Examining  “I Have a Dream” Part 2

Greetings Sons of God:
When we look at the speech there is a particular section that I want to focus on because much of the speech did speak to the civil rights struggle and overcoming but there was a particular part of the speech that you do not hear many speak of but it is probably the most important part of the speech in understanding the dream.  Here is the section of the speech:

“I have a dream that ONE DAY every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.  This is our hope and this is THE FAITH that I go back to the south with.  With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope.  With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood.  With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.”

Now when we examine this portion of the speech we see some very crucial words:
1.   One Day
2.   Glory of the Lord
3.   Faith
4.   Hope
5.   Brotherhood
6.   Together (Unity)

This portion of the speech was not speaking of the present day of the speech but of a time to come.  But moreover everything about this portion of the speech is spiritual not carnal.  So to understand this requires a spiritual interpretation because to carnally interpret it will put the meaning in a place where many will believe that this will never happen.  Just look at the current state of the nation. Racism is still present and to believe that everyone will be equal in the United States under the current system is a farce.   Dr. King in this portion of the speech was quoting a Scripture in Isaiah.  Isaiah 40:4,5 to be exact and it speaks of the coming of the Lord.  But when you go to the previous scriptures, verse 1-3 it speaks of the one crying in the wilderness to prepare the way of the Lord and make it straight.  Now we know that to make the Lord’s way straight is to walk in submission and obedience because the crooked way is of the enemy.   Dr. King says this is the hope and the faith that he will go back to the south with but also the hope and faith that will unify and set free the captives.  Hmm this sounds familiar.

I believe we are living in the day to see “The Dream” become a reality and this is why:

Isaiah 2:2: And it shall come to pass in the last days that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills and all nations shall flow unto it.

In this day, the Lord is raising a nation that makes “The Dream” a reality and that nation is not the United States, but the Holy Nation, the Spiritual Israel, the House of God.  Now how can we prove it.
1.      Where else can there be people completely unified beyond the color of their skin? (Galatians 3:26-29)
2.      Where else can people be truly free? (2 Corinthians 3:17)
3.      Unity through Brotherhood (Ephesians 3:14,15; Ephesians 4:1-6)

It is within the Holy Nation, the House of God that the Scripture in Isaiah 2 says “all nations shall flow to it” and it continue to say how when they come the House of God they will learn His ways and the law shall come from Zion and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.  This is The Dream!  The House of God being made manifest in this day.  Those who are carnal will continue to fight to keep the dream alive but for those who are spiritual they are watching the dream become reality.

Examining "I Have A Dream" Part 1

“The Dream” Series

Today’s Focus: Examining “I Have A Dream” Part 1

Greetings Sons of God:
In August 28, 1963 in Washington D.C. in front of the Lincoln Memorial one of the greatest speeches given in American history was given by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  So many in particular, African-Americans speak of this great speech and demonstration in Washington on that faithful day.  When there are civil injustices done in America especially towards African Americans many speak of “The Dream Speech” and many will say “We must keep Dr. King’s dream alive”.  Even as recent as 2013 in the aftermath of the Trayvon Martin Case here in Tallahassee, Florida there are a group of people sitting-in in front of the Governor’s Office in the attempt to get a certain law changed due to the verdict of the trial.

Now in the previous messages we have laid out the importance of dreams and how God speaks to us through them.  We also study that the interpretation of the dreams is spiritually revealed and will happen because God cannot lie and the manifestation of the dream in reality is for an appointed time of the Father.  Now with all of that said here is the question:

How do you keep the dream alive?

So many people have gone about “keeping the dream alive” wrong.  People have made keeping the dream alive all about equality for African-Americans only and even when you go back in look at the transcript of the speech, he was speaking of injustices against all.  Now before we break the speech down I want to go forward to his last speech right before King’s assassination “I Have Been to the Mountaintop” (April 3, 1968, Memphis, Tennessee) let me give you this portion of the speech:

“Well, I don’t know what will happen now; we’ve got some difficult days ahead. But it really doesn’t matter to with me now, because I’ve been to the mountaintop.  And I don’t mind. Like, anybody, I would like to live a long life-longevity has its place.  But I’m not concerned about that now.  I just want to do God’s Will and He’s allowed me to go up to the mountain and I’ve looked over and I’ve seen the Promised Land.  I may not get there with you But I want you to know tonight, that we as a people, will get to the Promised Land. I am so happy tonight; I’m not worried about anything; I’m not fearing any man.  Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.”

Now King spoke this message in a church.  Now when you read this, many have tried to apply this to the fact that African-Americans will make it to the promised land but there is a problem with that viewpoint because if the Spirit is speaking through him to the church then he is speaking about the House of God.  Now a major point is the fact that King says that “The Lord allowed me to go up to the mountain”.  Now we have a point of reference for this: Moses and when Moses went up to the mountain, he went there to fellowship with the Lord and receive His Words for the nation.  In addition, He said he looked over and seen the Promised Land and said He has seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.  Nothing about that is carnal or natural, this was spiritual.  I strongly believe that he knew he was not going to see that day but he had been given a hope, a certainty that the people, the House of God, will get there.
The messages and dreams that King was given by the Lord were all spiritual and if they are spiritual then their interpretation must be revealed by the Spirit.  Yes there were portions of his speeches that spoke about the current conditions of the time but the major parts of the speech that people quote and use for their agendas are the portions that are spiritual and because they have not received it spiritually, they carnally try to apply it to their agenda.

When Dr. King speaks of having a dream then we need to examine the dream and allow the Spirit to reveal the dream and if this is the case then to say “we must keep the dream alive” will be put in its proper perspective knowing that the dream will tarry and will manifest.  But we know for a certain that it will happen the question is:

Are you going to be a willing participant in seeing it come to reality because it is coming because the Word of the Lord will accomplish all that it is set out to do.

In the next message we look at the speech and see what the dream is and why it is relevant for today.

Understanding the Manifestation of Dreams and Visions

“The Dream” Series

Today’s Focus: Understanding the Manifestation of Dreams and Visions

Greetings Sons of God:
To understand how dreams are manifested we need to look at this Scripture:

Habakkuk 2:2-4:  And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.  For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall not speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.  Behold, his soul which is lifted up in not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

If the Lord gives the vision or dream then we have a guarantee that it will come to pass because God does not lie and the Scriptures say the the Word of the Lord will go forth out of His mouth and will not come back void without accomplishing all it has been set out to do.  So when God speaks through a dream you can rest assure that it will come to reality.  Now there are dreams that warn us and if we do not make the necessary changes the Lord is warning us about then the consequences will come to pass and you cannot say that the Lord did not warn you.

Two of the most vivid testimonies I can use is the visions and dreams given to Daniel pertaining to the end times and the dreams and visions given to Joseph as it pertains to the protection and safety of baby Jesus.  Now in this day God is still speaking through dreams and visions because His Word through the prophet Joel tells us this.

The problem we run into as it pertains to dreams and visions manifesting is this small passage within the Scripture that says “the vision is yet for an appointed time”.  Just because we get the vision today does not mean the manifestation will be today.   The timing of the vision becoming reality is up to the One giving the vision because He knows the end from the beginning.

In understanding this let us take a look at the I Have Dream Speech in the next message.

Interpretation of Dreams

“The Dream” Series

Today’s Focus: Interpretation of Dreams

Greetings Sons of God:
Let me lead with this passage of Scripture:

1 Corinthians 2:9-14:  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.  For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.  Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned.

Now without understanding this Scripture, you will always have the wrong interpretation of dreams because of your lack of proper perception and understanding.   Now dreams are ways that God speaks to us.  So, sense this is true then as the Scripture states above that means the interpretation must be spiritually given and discerned because it is given by the Spirit.   To interpret a dream off of your feelings and emotions will lead you to either a very limited view and understanding or even a complete misinterpretation.  The Scripture above says the “natural” or carnal man, or the man perceiving or interpreting things from his soul, cannot receive the things of the Spirit because they are spiritually discern.  This is how:

Romans 8:16:  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God

It is the fellowship of the Spirit with our spirit that revelation, illumination and interpretation comes.  Now the problem comes when our soul is being dominant because it will fight the interpretation coming from the spirit, especially when the soul feels it puts us in a vulnerable position.  So for us to get proper interpretation of a dream and vision from God then it will require the Spirit of God to reveal it and He will reveal it to our spirit.  It is our responsibility to receive and move as the Spirit directs us.

This is all crucial to really understand because many are having dreams and because of a lack of spiritual intervention, people are not recognizing that God is speaking to them.  In the next message, we will look at understanding the manifestation of dreams and visions. Please continue to study with us.

"The Dream Series" - Introduction

“The Dream” Series

Today’s Focus: Introduction

Greetings Sons of God:
While I was at work I was thinking upon things that were going on at the Capitol in Tallahassee, FL where the Dream Defenders are sitting in at the Governors office hoping for change in the aftermath of the Trayvon Martin verdict.  Now I am not here to even discuss that issue but as I was sitting in silence working, the Lord spoke and gave me understanding into “The Dream”.  The Dream I am referring to was “The I Have A Dream” Speech by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  He then took me to his last speech “I Have Been to the Mountaintop” and gave me insight and understanding into how this message is relevant today.  Now as He spoke I sat there in awe and a joy filled my spirit.  After giving me understanding He began to show me where we missed the interpretation of the message within the speech but also how when we look at dreams in general how we fail to respond through our lack of understanding of how dreams work.

In this series before we even talk about the speech itself and get the interpretation we must go back and understand to purpose for dreams and how they function in the lives of the sons of God.

Joel 2:28: And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and daughters shall prophesy and your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.

So in this Scripture we see the Lord telling us that dreams are a way by which He will communicate with His sons and daughters.  Now the problem we have ran into is understanding how and why He does this.  So many of our people are having dreams and seeing visions and their response to the dreams are “well it is just a dream or it is just a nightmare”.  And what many have missed is an understanding that dreams are a way that God speaks to us.   Now if we know this we cannot just stop there, wake up from the dream and just go on our merry way!  If you desire to understand, then you must ask the Lord for interpretation.  He may answer you plainly by His voice to your spirit or He may send someone to give you the interpretation but you must ask for the interpretation.

Finally, dreams come in two ways:  Symbolic and Literal.  If they are symbolic you ask for the interpretation and when they are literal you obey what is shown and said.  Sometimes it will require you to go to someone and speak what you the Lord showed.   We must get a solid foundation into the concept of dreams because if we don’t we will miss the voice of the Lord speaking to us clearly and only see it as a mere coincidence.

In the next message we will look at understanding the interpretation of dreams.
