Today’s Focus: Process of Coming to True Pentecost
Scripture: Exodus 13:21-22; 14:21-31; Romans 8:14; Deuteronomy 1:2
Greetings Kingdom Citizens
How do we come to experience true Pentecost within the House of God? Well we can look at physical Israel's journey and see the very things that we must do in order to come to experience what God says Pentecost is.
1. Follow the Lead of the Lord
Exodus 13:21-22: And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
It will be God that will lead the children of Israel out of Egypt and into the promised land. Now let's take the type and shadow and show the reality. It will be by the lead of the Lord that he will guide you out from the ways and oppression of the world, into the House of God and the Kingdom of God
Romands 8:14: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God
2. Bury your Enemies
In Exodus 14:21-31 we see the Lord, saving the children of Israel by drowing the Egyptians in the Red Sea. This is the type and shadow, so let's see the reality for the sons of God. Sons of God must bury the enemies of their past in order to advance to true Pentecost. This means leaving the world and its systems and ways that are oppressive to the will of God. whether those enemies are sensual such as sexual perversion, or idolatry or even a simply flawed character that does not reflect the nature and character of Christ. These little enemies must be stamped out and buried in order to truly reach Pentecost.
These two things must happen or you will be just like physical Israel when they were delivered and let me explain. Even though Israel was delivered from Egypt by the hand of the Lord, certain characteristics and traits continued to show amongst the children of Israel as a sign of the Egyptian captivity such as false god worship. Israel was one day from entering into the promised land but their faith and obedience failed them. They came to a land named Kadesh-Barnea (Deuteronomy 1:2) which means "holy but inconstant son". The children of Israel were following God physically but were continually flirting with false god worship and the ways of Egypt. Much like many of us, we are called out of the world but still flirt with the world, its ways and it’s culture that oppose the Father.
It took God hours to take Israel out of Egypt but it took 40 years for God to take Egypt out of Israel.
In the next message we will look at the celebration of Pentecost.
Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,
