Understanding the Sabbath
Today’s Focus: The Sabbath Day: The Man of Rest
Scripture: Acts 7:49; Matthew 8:20; Ephesians 2:9;
Greetings Kingdom Citizens
Who is this Man of Rest? This man is a corporate man consisting of male and females. Hence the corporate man of rest is the Body of Christ. Now whenever God refers to something corporate then it must be also relevant to the individual with the Body of Christ. We know that the Body of Christ is the House of God. It is the spiritual housing of God in the Earth.
The Man of Rest is where God can lay His head and rest. Hmm. Sound unique so let us see.
Matthew 8:20: And Jesus saith unto him, the foxes have holes, and the birds or the air have nest; but the Son of Man hath not where to lay His head.
Remember Jesus is the Head of the Body of Christ and in being the Head of the body, the Government of God (Kingdom of God) can rest in this place also. We know that the result of the rule of the Kingdom of God in the Earth is peace and where there is peace, there is also rest. Let me show you this:
Acts 7:49: Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? Saith the Lord: or WHAT IS THE PLACE OF MY REST?
God does not dwell in houses made by the hands of man, He dwells within man. Did you notice that God told you what Heaven is. He said it is His throne! Notice also in Ephesians 2:9 it says God hath raised us up together and made us SIT (POSITION OF REST, SABBATH) IN HEAVELY PLACES IN CHRIST JESUS.
This corporate man is unique in the sense when there are storms and trials all around them they can rest like Jesus did in the boat when it was being tossed by the storm. So the Body of Christ is built to withstand the storms of life in this world.
In the next message we will look at building the corporate man because if we do not understand how the Body of Christ is built then what will the end look like. Every contractor knows what the finished product will look like and every person building according to the contractors specifications know what the end looks like but it takes time and the building must be built in stages.
