Restoring the Glory of the House of God

Israel: The Kingdom’s 42nd Immortal Generation

Today’s Focus: Restoring the Glory of the House of God

Scripture: 2 Samuel 7:11-13; Ephesians 2:22; Hebrews 1:2,3; 1 Peter 2:5

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

David is known as “a man after God’s heart”. Now let me show you why. In 2 Samuel 7 we see an interaction between Nathan the prophet and King David.

2 Samuel 7:2: That the king (David) said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the Ark of God dwelleth within curtains. And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the Lord is with thee.

So in David’s heart he realized that he is sitting in a luxurious house but the Ark of God is under curtains. This bothered David seeing that the Lord has delivered David from all his enemies. Knowing this bothered David the Lord spoke to Nathan the prophet to tell him what to tell David. Let me highlight some of this for the sake of time.

God wants to inform David that God has not dwelt in any house since the time of the deliverance of the children of Israel out of Egypt but has walked in a tent and in a tabernacle (2 Sam. 7:6). We know that the Ark of the Covenant symbolized the presence of God. God reminded David that He took him from watching over sheep to King over God’s people, over Israel (2 Sam 7:8). God assures David that He will appoint a place for His people and the children of wickedness shall not afflict them (2 Samuel 7:10). Now here comes the big picture:

2 Samuel 7:11: And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the Lord telleth thee (David), that he will make thee an house.

Now this is major. David wanted to build God a physical house. God said I have a better idea I will build you a house. The word house here refers not to a physical building but a family. God knows the end from the beginning and a physical house is temporary. God want to give something to David that will last forever and God goes on to explain this:

2 Samuel 7:12,13: And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers , I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom forever.

Now this can be looked at in two ways and some theologians view it in these two ways. Some say God is speaking of Solomon who will be the seed that come out of David and he will build the house (temple) for God’s name. Now the only problem I have with this is that it does not take into account verse 13 which speaks of him building the house for God and God establishing his throne FOR EVER. Now let’s look at this from this perspective. We already concluded that God wanted to build a family for David. God states after David is sleep with his fathers, meaning after he has died. Now God says the “He will set up thy seed after him” In other words, “God will set up the family and establish His Kingdom or rule”. Here it is, watch this. The scripture says “He shall build a house (family) for my name, and I will establish the throne of His Kingdom forever. This passage of scripture is referring to the Lord Jesus Christ. How do we know, let’s see:

Matthew 16:18b: Upon this rock (Christ, the Son of the Living God) I will build my church…

Ephesians 2:22: In whom (Christ) ye also are builded together for a habitation (temple or house) of God through the Spirit

1 Peter 2:5: ye also as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Do we see this? God is not interested in a building. He is more interested in you being a part of the Holy Family. It is the Holy Spirit that builds the house under the direction of the Son, Jesus Christ. Now let’s bring it home.

Hebrews 1:2,3: Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on High.

The 42nd Immortal Generation of sons of God are to be the radiance of the Father’s glory in the Earth. They are mature sons that constitute the House of God following the pattern laid out by Jesus Christ. These sons are committed to restoring the House of God with lost sons of promise and are prepared to lay down the rulership of their own lives for the sake of their brothers.

In the next message we will start to look at the name of this Holy Nation that is brought forth through Jesus Christ.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,
