Genealogy of Jesus and the 42nd Generation

Israel: The Kingdom’s 42nd Immortal Generation

Today’s Focus: Genealogy of Jesus and the 42nd Generation

Scripture: Matthew 1:17; Hebrews 7:3; Numbers 11:16,17

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

When we look at these genealogies in Scripture, many have looked over them and just skipped them as irrelevant but these genealogies are loaded with a wealth of knowledge but most of all they will show us who we are as sons of God. Let’s get right into and look at the genealogy in Matthew 1.

Matthew 1:17: So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

So we see the Scripture saying that there are 3 sets of 14 generations to Christ equaling 42 generations. Now when we count the natural order of father begot son, it only comes up to 41. Now are the Scriptures contradicting itself? Of course not. Christ is the end of the linage but also the beginning of another type of lineage. Weird isn’t it. Jesus Christ is the only begotten spiritual son of the Father of our spirits. So what has changed? We see the natural give way to the spiritual. Jesus was after the order of Melchizedek:

Hebrews 7:3; Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; BUT MADE LIKE UNTO THE SON OF GOD; ABIDETH A PREIST FOREVER.

So the new lineage beginning instituted by Christ is a spiritual family, The House of God, The Kingdom of God, the Body of Christ. So the 42nd Generation is a spiritual linage that is also eternal. Now before we go any further let’s go back to prove this because there is a type and a shadow to this in the Old Testament. The type and shadow is Moses and the nation of Israel. God chose to set a righteous man over a unrighteous Israel and choosing seventy more just like Moses to create a nation. The number 70 is significant for forgiving and a peaceful nation. But watch this because in the church we do not follow this model and this is the type and shadow so the reality is very close to this:

Numbers 11:16,17: And the Lord said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee. And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I WILL TAKE OF THE SPIRIT (HOLY SPIRIT) WHICH IS UPON YOU (MOSES) AND WILL PUT IT UPON THEM (ELDERS) AND THEY SHALL BEAR THE BURDEN OF THE PEOPLE WITH THEE, THAT THOU BEAR IT NOT THYSELF ALONE.

Have we thought about this design of caring for the heritage who are the children of the Lord. Our design is one man over a set congregation. Can that man bear all of the burdens of the people alone? Of course not! Yes Moses was given the grace to be the leader but God also ordained 70 other elders to assist him with oversight of the people. Do we see this in the church today? Barely because many pastors are orphans and cannot bear to think to have others assist him with oversight over the Body of Christ. But when all you care about is numbers and members, all you need is the latest gimmick and run that until the world tells you to change it.

In the next message we will continue to look at this Immortal 42nd Generation and the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.
