Israel: The Kingdom’s 42nd Immortal Generation
Today’s Focus: We Are the Israel of God: Fulfillment of Prophecies Part 1
Scripture: Genesis 32:28; 37:7; Romans 8:28; 29; Matthew 2:13
Greetings Kingdom Citizens
Now I know some people want proof because we live in a “I believe if it, if I see it” type of society but what is funny about that is the fact that we walk by faith and faith requires you to believe in whom you cannot see. Now as it pertains to this topic the Word of God is going to confirm this and this is a major reason why you cannot just study the New Testament because the Old Testament really explains in a type and shadow way, why the New Testament is what it is and why Our Lord and Savior went through the things He did, even though He was God in the flesh. So let’s look at these prophecies and show you that those who are born again are the Israel of God.
Firstborn Son
Jacob after having his name changed to Israel the man tells Jacob that he is a prince that hast power with God and with men and hast prevailed (Genesis 32:28). If God is the King or Ruler of all that makes his son a Prince of God. Hence, Israel is a true son of God. Jacob was the natural bloodline that would be fulfilled as a spiritual son of God. We know that Jesus is the end of the natural lineage and the fulfillment of all Old Testament prophecy and ushers in a new lineage of sons who are sons of God not by blood but by the Spirit. Jesus was given this title by Paul:
Romans 8:28,29: And we know that all things work together for the good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, THAT HE MIGHT BE THE FIRSTBORN AMONG MANY BRETHERN.
Just as Jacob or Israel was the firstborn of many brothers of the natural lineage of physical Israel, Jesus or Israel is the firstborn of many brethren or descendents who are also called the sons of God and spiritual Israel of God.
Dreaming into Egypt
Joseph, one of the 12 sons of Jacob had a dream and told his brethren the dream and this is it:
Genesis 37:7: For behold, we (brothers) were binding sheaves in the field (Egypt), and lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf
Joseph had a dream that his brothers would be under his rule one day. Did this happen? Yes! When? When the children of Israel went into Egypt when Joseph was exalted to a ruler in Egypt. So the children of Israel went into Egypt. Here is the reality. Jesus when He was a baby, we know that Herod sought to kill him because of the wise men telling Herod that the King had been born. But look at how this happens.
Matthew 2:13: And when they were departed, behold, THE ANGEL OF THE LORD APPEARETH TO JOSEPH IN A DREAM. SAYING ARISE AND TAKE THE YOUNG CHILD (JESUS) AND HIS MOTHER AND FLEE INTO EGYPT; and be though there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy Him.
So we have Joseph, one of the 12 sons of Israel dreaming of that the children of Israel would be in Egypt and we have Joseph the God-appointed father to Jesus dreaming to take Jesus, who is God’s Israel into Egypt.
We will continue to draw these parallels between the Old Testament prophecies and New Testament realities that we are the Israel of God.
