Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) - Revealed

Today’s Topic: Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) - Revealed

Scripture: Leviticus 23:24,25

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

Now in our previous message we look at this Feast of Trumpets and what it means to the Jews, but what does it mean also for the saints. We have already established that this is prophetic in nature and at the end of the holiday there is the triumphant long blast of the shofar called the last trump. So what does it all mean? Let’s quickly re-visit this so I can explain. Why is he shofar blown?

1. A Warning of Danger

2. Calling of a Holy Assembly

3. The Arrival of a King

Today I will show you all three of these in scripture because remember God wants to prepare us but we have to be willing to open our soul to the words of the Spirit and hear from Heaven.

A Warning of Danger (Revelation 8:2-Revelation 10)

Now this is a large set of scriptures but if you read and I will leave the reading up to you. Seven angels have seven trumpets. Now six of these trumpets will be blown and if you read it nothing good will happen on the earth during six of these trumpets. So God is telling us in these scriptures that the sounding of the trumpet from heaven will signal some horrific things to come upon the Earth. Now back in Biblical times if Israel was going to be attacked and they saw the enemy off in the distance, the shofar would be blown in a distinct way to let everyone know that danger was around the corner or was in the distance. So the blowing of the shofar, or trumpet was in one way symbolic of the warning of danger.

The Calling of a Holy Assembly (1 Thessalonians 4:16; Matthew 24:30,31)

The blowing of the shofar was to gather the people around to get their full attention to what will be said, whether it be from the priest or from God Himself. God called for many holy congregations (assemblies) throughout the feasts of God. It was to call attention to what is about to be done and make all who were there aware and attentive. Now there is another holy assembly that will happen upon the blowing of the trumpet and it is found here in 1 Thessalonians 4:16. “For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.” So what does this mean? The Great Holy Assembly of the Saints of God will happen upon the last trump that is blown by the arch angel and the dead in Christ shall rise first then those that are alive and remain will be changed in a twinkling of and eye and will be gathered up to meet the Lord in the air. This is the call to get all of the saints (dead and alive) attention to get ready to meet the Lord in the air. What a powerful concept and picture. Here is another in Matthew 24:30,31:

“And then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in Heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

The Arrival of a King (1Thessalonians 4:16; Revelation 10:7; Revelation 11:15)

Before a king enters an area there is a page or messenger sent to announce his arrival and the trumpet is blown to get everyone’s attention that the king is about to enter. Now if you look at our scripture in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 we see that the Lord will descend from Heaven to Earth after the trump of God is blown. Now the Jews believe that he is coming for the first time, but we know that he is returning and every eye shall see Him. Of course we are talking about the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus the Christ. So the blowing of these trumpets are important to know about because it is the sound and signal that God gives us of either a warning, a holy assembly or the arrival of a king.

Now I am once again throwing this out on the table, what better sign not only to the church, but to the Jews that for the Lord Jesus to return in time upon the blowing of the last trump of the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah). During this feast there is a Holy assembly and a final trumpet blown as a signal of good news and victory. What would be the good news and victory? The Return of the Lord and the saints being harvested up to meet the Lord in the air.
