Beginning of Jesus Ministry

Today’s Focus: The Beginning of Jesus Ministry
Scripture: Matthew 4:12-16

Greetings Kingdom Citizens
The ministry of Jesus began after John the Baptist was put in prison and out of the way. See, John was the last prophet to prophesy the coming of Christ and now that He was here, John had to get out of the way. That is why Jesus did not stop Herod from cutting John the Baptist head off. Just to give you a heads up, when John was in prison he sent his disciples to ask Jesus whether he was the Messiah and Jesus sent back word that He was. So now Jesus goes out of Nazareth and heads to Nabulon to fulfill the prophecy of Isaiah. This was a very important prophecy because Jesus is stating who He is coming to save. Let’s look at Isaiah 42:6-7:

If you read verse 6, you see that Jesus was sent to be a light unto the Gentiles. Now look at verse 7. To open blinded eyes and bring out of prison the prisoners that sit in darkness. Hold up right here! Do you remember I sent an email about get out of prison about 1 month ago. So Jesus came to set you free from the prison of darkness and warden satan. So, Jesus came to save all of mankind!

Finally, lets look at Matthew 4:16. It is important for us to live in the light and not in the darkness of satan. Nothing good happens in darkness! So in order to get out of darkness, you must have some knowledge of light. Here is a quick example. If you are at home sitting in utter darkness and you know you want to turn on the light to see, you must first have knowledge of how to turn on the light. So in order to get out of darkness you have to have knowledge. So the knowledge you need is the Word of God and the light is Jesus Christ. See how simple it is! Get out of darkness today!
