Conditional Multiplication and Fruitfulness

Seven Principles of Fathering
Today’s Focus: Principle #5 – Conditional Multiplication and Fruitfulness
Scripture: Deuteronomy 7:12-15

Greetings Kingdom Citizens
Deuteronomy 7:12-15: Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the Lord thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers: And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers ti give thee. Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle. And the Lord will take away all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate me.

The prosperity gospel preachers love to take a portion of this and preach on it but what I want to show you is God puts conditions on His blessings. There is a difference between love and blessings and lets deal with that now. The love of God is unconditional. God does not put a condition on His love for you, no matter how dirty and wrong you have been. The greatest show of His unconditional love was when He gave all He had which was His Son, Jesus Christ to take the punishment of sin and death for us that we might be resurrected in the newness of life and be able to have fellowship with the Father once again. So the love of God is unconditional but His blessings are conditional. Blessings is God’s reward to you for your obedience. In other words it is like God saying “Son you are able to handle this, here it is”. Now with that cleared up look back at the scripture and I pray all the prosperity gospel preachers that may read this get a clear understanding of how blessings are obtained.

In the beginning of that passage, the Lord starts by stating that IF YOU HEARKEN TO HIS JUDGEMENTS AND KEEP AND DO THEM. That is conditional right off the top. In order to receive the blessings of multiplication and fruitfulness you must be obedient to the voice of God. Throughout the book of Deuteronomy and especially Exodus we see the phrase “If you obey my voice or If you obey my commandments” The word “if” is all throughout the scripture denoting a condition upon receiving all these blessings. Yes, we want to receive all that the Lord stated in Deuteronomy 7:12-15 but it starts with obedience. A good father will not reward a rebellious son with blessings that he knows he cannot handle and will mishandle due to his immaturity and attitude.

In the next message we will look at the sixth principle in which God will not give you what you cannot handle.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,
