Servanthood

The Mind of Christ

Today’s Focus: Operating in the Mind of Christ: Servanthood

Scripture: John 17:22; John 14:16-18; Matthew 6:31; Romans 8:14-16

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

To be a servant of the Father is the highest order in life. This requires us to always be in a state of humility and meekness because that is the spirit in which God can use us for His Will. The very fact that you are a son of God, you are sent from the Father to put on display the nature and character of the Father in the earth. The Father does this by sending Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus into our spirit which is the confirmation of our sonship (Romans 8:14-16). Now we have oneness with the Father, Spirit to spirit. This is the glory that Jesus desired to have with us in John 17:22: “And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; THAT THEY MAY BE ONE, EVEN AS WE ARE ONE.”

Now Jesus said He did not come to BE SERVE, BUT TO SERVE. Remember Christ is our template and example. Hence God did not send His children to be served, He sent us to serve. We serve Him through submission, self-denial and obedience summed up into one word, worship. As a son we do not worry about the day to day cares because we are led by the Spirit and it is the Father that takes care of our every need. Our prayers are not about provision and protection (Matthew 6:31) but they are about the Kingdom coming (manifestation) and the Will of God being done. We have been given dominion as a King and Priest. Jesus Christ is our brother and the Holy Spirit is our connection to the House of God. Let’s close on this beautiful scripture.

John 14:16-18: And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter (Holy Spirit), that He may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of Truth (Holy Spirit); whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for HE DWELLETH WITH YOU, AND SHALL BE IN YOU. I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU COMFORTLESS (FATHERLESS, ORPHAN): I WILL COME TO YOU.

The abiding of the Holy Spirit allows us to operate in the Mind of Christ and serve our Father to prove what is His perfect Will. Jesus said he would not leave us comfortless. In the last message of this series we will end it with understanding the mentality of the comfortless child or orphan. Remember the mindset of the orphan is preoccupied with their provision and protection and they despise correction. They see correction as abuse and they only look out for themselves. They are in no position to serve God because it will require them to deny themselves and trust Him to meet their provision and protection.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,
