The
Beauty of the House Part 1
Greetings
Sons of God:
Psalm
27:4: One thing have I desired of the LORD that will I seek after, that I may
dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life to behold the beauty of
the Lord and to enquire in his temple.
David
writes this beautiful Psalm and one that I believe we need to come back to the
very heart of. It is very easy to look
externally at our condition and see the depravity and despair in our
world. We see trouble all around us and
it is hard too look and see the good things on earth for all the confusion and
sin. However as a son, David refocuses
our attention to where I heart, soul and mind need to be. We enquire of the Lord in His temple and
behold His beauty. As sons of God we are
the House of God and we live in Him. We
must learn how to dwell within the House of God and in dwelling and enquiring
we see His beauty. The next question is
what is the temple of the Lord where we may enquire and see His beauty?
The temple of the Lord is the House
of God, the Sons of God, the Church, the Body of Christ.
When
we enter into the Body of Christ there are mature sons that are able to put the
character and glory of the Father on display that you will have an example to
follow. In putting His character on
display the beauty and the glory of the Lord is seen. I can promise you this because I have seen
this beauty, when you enter into the House of God you are able to see the
beauty within the House through the diversity of the sons and how the House is
ordered and matured trans-generationally.
Now
notice that David does not simply say dwell but enquire! We need to enquire of the Lord in the House
of God because we are to be like Him and receive the prize of
Christ-likeness. This must be matured
through real relationships ordered by the Lord.
Remember it is the Spirit that arranges you in the Body! Not you who
arranges! Meaning it is important for
you to be in the right household within the Body for you to grow. The first thing you will learn when you
enquire is to rest from YOUR labors. You
stop fighting and being entangled with the affairs of this life and you learn
how to live from the mind of Christ.
Let
us enquire of the Lord in His House!
Peace
and Grace
