Holiness and the Kingdom of God

Eldership in the Kingdom of God
Today’s Focus: Holiness and the Kingdom of God
Scripture: 1 Peter 2:9; Matthew 20:28; Genesis 1:26

Greetings Kingdom Citizens
Holy Spirit embodies the holiness of God. So everything that He does in teaching and guiding us is for a holy purpose. This purpose always pertains to the advancement of the Kingdom of God in the Earth. Every endeavor of the Kingdom of God is holy because the King Himself is Holy. If the King, who is also the Son of God is Holy then his brethren should be holy also, right? Of course! Genesis 1:26a: Let us make man IN OUR IMAGE, AFTER OUR LIKENESS. Likeness pertains to character and the character of God is holy. Hence the purpose of the sons of God are to bring a holy rule in the Earth as Kingdom Citizens of sons of the Father. What a powerful concept. Hence Peter had this wonderful word to say about those who are in the Kingdom:

1 Peter 2:9: But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people that YE SHOULD SHEW FORTH THE PRAISES OF HIM WHO HATH CALLED YOU OUT OF DARKNESS INTO HIS MARVELLOUS LIGHT.

Now in this scripture is the full embodiment of who you are to be:
· Chosen Generation: This pertains to being chosen by the Father to be a part of His House or family
· Royal Priesthood: We are vice kings (viceroys) and spiritual representatives of Him (Priest) in the earth
· Holy Nation: The family of God make up a holy nation in the Earth bring forth a holy rule in the Earth via the Kingdom of God
· Peculiar People: The House of God is the most diverse and unique family on the Earth because not only are they citizens of the Kingdom and sons of God but they are also Kings and Priests in the Earth and the Father has given them dominion in the Earth to carry out His Holy Will.
After telling you all of that, Peter then tells you the purpose: to show forth the praise of Him that called you out of darkness into the His marvelous light. So the people who belong to the Kingdom of God is called the Lord’s House or the House of God. We discussed this our series “The House of God”

Now God has given certain people authority to watch and care for His people. This is the work of the elders. The Elders are to serve the Lord amongst the people. Jesus gave us this great example in scripture:

Matthew 20:28: Even as the Son of Man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister and to give His life as a ransom for many

Do we see that! Jesus said He came to serve and not to be served. Look at all of these preachers today who need to people to wait on them hand and foot but they are not serving anyone. So can we see that many of these people are self-made elders not watching over anything but being Pharisees and making people wait on them. This is the oppression, Jesus woed the Pharisees about when He spoke of not entering the Kingdom and shutting the door so that others cannot get in.

Being a elder is a gift from God and in the next message we will look at the gifting and put it in is proper context and not the religious mindset.
