Understanding Incarnation

Topic: Understanding Incarnation

Greetings Sons of God:
Now you may wonder where this is coming from and trust me we are not talking about someone dying and then coming back as some animal.  That is re-incarnation and that is not what we believe in anyway.  But let’s first define incarnation and then move forward from there.

Incarnation – A person who embodies in the flesh a deity, spirit or abstract quality.

So just based on the definition of incarnation we can began to see how this is important to understand to us as sons of God.  So many people seem to separate the two meaning human and God when God made the human to be a son but carry His presence in the Earth.  Let’s start with this Scripture:

Galatians 2:20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Now look at this because our definition of incarnation is summed up in the Scripture.  When we repent and accept Jesus as our Savior we were crucified and died to the sinful man.  It then states even though I live it is Christ who lives in me and my life is in Him.  Christ abiding within mankind is the very definition of incarnation.  But do not lose fact that we died and even though we maybe physically alive in the ability to walk and interact with the physical realm, but our life and existence is in Christ who lives in us.

Colossians 3:3: For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

It is important to understand that maturing in Christ is the process by which you understand how you are the host of the presence of God and how He uses you as a portal to act through in our time.  See many people are looking here there and every where for God and it has been His plan all the time to dwell within you.  Now this is the current reality that many are walking in and many are still blinded to .  As we know if this is the reality then God has used a type and shadow before that our soul may pick up a little of what God eventually brought to reality and that type and shadow is the Ark of the Covenant.

If you go back and look up how the Ark of the Covenant is made up or built you will see that it is made of wood overlaid with gold.  This is a picture of humanity covered in divinity.  The wood represents the humanity and the gold, divinity.  Of course there were the two angels bowed toward the mercy seat which sat between the two angels. The purpose is to show a characteristic and nature of God being merciful toward men.  The way that the ark was transported was by four priests and it was carried by four golden rods that extended from four corners of the box.   This is strategic because the number four is symbolic of universality and corporeity.  Meaning the fact that ark of the covenant was carried by four priests denote that the ark of the covenant is meant to be carried by the corporate man.   Meaning that carrying the ark is not about individuality, it is about corporeity.  The importance of the carrying of the ark and it being portable is to show the presence of God in the earth and the presence of God introduces the divine into the human.  The introduction of the presence of God to the human is so critical because it is this incarnation that manifests the sons of God.  Let me show you this critical concept:

Joshua 4:15-17: And as they bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priest that bare the that ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of the harvest,) That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is eside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho. And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over the Jordan.

When God is incarnate in man, the dynamics of the earth change.  When the ark when before the people in the Scripture the waters of the Jordan which were overflowing separated and they passed over the Jordan on dry ground.  Now in the carnal we would think that is impossible and we would look for some scientific reasoning of how this could be.  Think about it from this angle.  Who created the water?  God!  So He knows how His creation works and operates right because He designed it.  Now as the Creator can He not also change how the creation functions?  Of course!  Understand that the eternal is a higher order than the temporal or the physical.  Everything that is physical came from the eternal.  So as God is incarnate in man, the creation sees the Creator within the man and responds accordingly as need be.   The problem many have is the belief in this being a reality.  We ask for God to come into our hearts that we may be saved but for many it stops there.  What about being a son!  That is who you are and as His son carrying the image of the Father, the creation is meant to serve us as we serve the Father.  This is what Genesis 1:26 is all about, sons having dominion in the earth ruling over creation.   Not just any rule but a righteous rule!  Jesus our eldest brother walked the earth and showed us how this works.  He was showing us how the sons of God are to be in image and likeness of their Heavenly Father sent to administrate His Kingdom and bring the rule of kingdoms under the enemy under the rule of the Kingdom of God.   We must wake from our slumber and really examine our relationship with the Father and get on board with His program to mature us and bring us into our inheritance as His sons.

Let close this portion of the less on out with this concept of carrying the ark of His Presence.  When we fail to carry the ark as a corporate body then we will carry His presence in ways he did not design.  Let me show you:

2 Samuel 6 is the story of David and how he believed it would be more convenient to carry the ark of the Covenant in a cark carried by an ox.  As David did this, one day as he was moving the ark, the ark began to tilt and Uzzah reached to grab the ark from falling and the Lord killed him.  David was upset with the Lord initially but then began to understand that the ark was designed and meant for the Levites to carry the ark, not to be carried by a single man or device or beast.  In today’s time when we fail to carry the ark of the Covenant corporately we devise institutions and systems by which to carry it and the end is death for disobedience.  We must do it the way God has designed us to do it.  The ark of the Covenant was meant to be carried by a corporate man, the priesthood.  Any other way would lead to the judgment of the Lord being rendered.

In the next message we will examine how incarnation impacts our viewpoints and ability to ascertain knowledge.
