Four Principals of Unity

The Temple of God
Today’s Focus: Four Principals of Unity
Scripture: John 17; Judges 7:1-20; Ephesians 4:1-7

Greetings Kingdom Citizens
There are four principals that must be present in the call for unity within the Body of Christ within the city and here they are:

Association
There must be an association of fellowship within the city. In John 17 this association is understood when Jesus calls the disciples them and they

Character
There must be a demand of character. The character qualification in John 17 is understood when Jesus declared that He has given them the Father’s name (John 17:6).

Theological
There must be theological qualifications and this is understood when Jesus states that He has given the disciples the Father’s Word (John 17:14)

Statue
The statue qualifications are represented in John 17:23 when Jesus says that they may be made perfect in one.

So there must be association, character, theological and statue qualifications when uniting the Body of Christ within the city. Can we prove that in scripture? We will use one Old Testament example and one New Testament example and show you the four qualifications within each example.

Gideon’s Army (Judges 7:1-20)
Association (7:3): 32,000 came together
Character (7:3): Everyone who was fearful had to leave
Theological (7:5): The drinking of water is the metaphoric designation of one ingesting the Word of God
Statue (7:20): When the three companies came together and held their lamps together as one so that each one’s light is shining.

Church at Ephesus (Ephesians 4:1-7)
Association (4:2): Forebearing one another in love
Character (4:2): Lowliness and meekness with longsuffering. There has to be a level of tolerance with your brother
Theological (4:5): One Lord, one faith, one baptism
Statue (4:7): Measure of the gift of Christ

Hence these four principals must be present in uniting the Body of Christ within the city. This is the biggest problem for the church because the Temple still lies in separate pieces and is awaiting to be build by those who truly will serve the Lord and allow all of themselves to be sacrificed for His Will and His pleasure so that His Temple will be built.

In the next message we will show you that God does not focus on local churches but on the church as a unit within the city.
