Agents of God

Understanding Servanthood
Today’s Focus: Divine Design of Humankind: Agents of God, The Shaliah Principal
Scripture: Matthew 16:24; Acts 9:15,16; Isaiah 9:6

Greetings Kingdom Citizens
The final purpose of the divine design of humankind is that all sons are agents of God. It is called the Shaliah principal. Shaliah is a rabbinical word and it means agent. This agent is the “sent one” or apostollos or apostle of the Lord that go in the stead of the Lord who sends them. In order to do this they must do this first:

Matthew 16:24: Then said Jesus unto His disciples, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me.

So the agent must lose their identity to bring the message from the one who sends them. So when the Master commissions someone to act on His behalf he is the agent or shaliah. A great example of this in scripture is Saul or Paul and Jesus speaking of his destiny:

Acts 9:15,16: But the Lord said unto him (Ananias), Go thy way, for he (Paul) IS A CHOSEN VESSEL (REPRESENTATIVE) UNTO ME, TO BEAR MY NAME (AGENT) BEFORE THE GENTILES, AND KINGS AND THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL (DEPUTYSHIP): FOR I WILL SHEW HIM HOW GREAT THINGS HE MUST SUFFER FOR MY NAME

So when the agent goes, it is as if the Master is going in the agent and when the agent speaks, they hear the Master because the agent has lost his identity to serve and carry the message of his Master. So when we say that the agent is the sent one or apostle of the Lord I am not speaking of apostle as we see it in the religious church as one who hops on planes and plants a bunch of churches and control people with big words. No! The apostle or the agent of the Lord is simply the one who carries the message and burden of the vision of the Lord to whomever the Lord sends them. This is why Paul can speak about the “dispensation of grace” given to him TO GIVE TO THE GENTILES (Ephesians 3:2). He was simply a vessel or agent carrying the grace and dispensing it in the earth ON BEHALF OF THE LORD. When the true agent of the Lord comes, you can truly say “Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord”. They come bearing and carrying something on behalf of someone else. Here is another great example:

Isaiah 9:6 speaks about Jesus and Him carrying a government on His shoulders. We know the government is the Kingdom of God, but He was not carrying this for Himself, He was carrying on behalf of the Father who sent Him for the lost sons of promise. So if you do not receive the Word of the Lord from the “sent one”, agent or apostle, then you reject the sender and in this case it is God Himself. So it is important to understand that the agent of God is simply the one who carries the message of the Lord to whom he sends him to.

To be a true apostolic people we must adopt the principal fundamental of servanthood and understand that we are simply vessels sent into the earth to carry the vision and Will of the Lord into the Earth. Nothing about the servant can say self but everything should point back to the Lord.

Hence we are called to be exact representatives of the Lord and steward over the things he has given us and go on behalf of Him and carry His Word and grace to the nations. In the next message we will look at servanthood from a beautiful scripture to show this point.
