Connecting the Fathers with the Sons

Role of the Spiritual Father

Today’s Focus: Connecting the Fathers with the Sons

Scripture: Hebrews 13:17

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

This is a unique process and one myself has experienced and when God pairs you up like He did in the early church, maturation will happen because that spiritual father is responsible for the son that the Lord has given him. Now the man who is the spiritual father has to have heard from the Father to accept the son. Why is this the case? Because God knows who is supposed to be paired with whom it bring to reality what their destiny is. The spiritual father must be a man of consistency and have incredible patience.

Think about the patience you must have with your own children in their rearing and then now think about the patience you may have to have with an adult who is immature in mindset and stuck in their ways. The spiritual father is not a mentor who will only impart information but will mentor you and demonstrate the ways and the nature of the Father. Can you imagine if Jesus just told us and never showed us, what type of church would we have today? Scary isn’t even with what we have today and Jesus showed us how to do this.

The spiritual father is not an advisor whom you can just pick what advice you like and what best fits you. His advice is truth and must be received in the light of the gift of God. THE SPIRITUAL FATHER IS NOT A LIFE COACH! I capitalized this because we see the t.v. preachers and evangelists talking about being “life-coaches” THAT IS NOT WHAT GOD WANTS YOU TO BE OR HAVE. Life coaches cheer you, encourage you but will they discipline you? I think not! The spiritual father will encourage you with prophetic words of great substance.

He will be a father to you and he has many responsibilities and goals for you. God has commissioned and given Him the grace to bring you to maturity but He will be held accountable for how he matures you. But do not think that you will not be responsible for how you respond and the things that you do, knowing they are right or wrong.

Hebrews 13:17: Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves, FOR THEY WATCH OVER YOUR SOULS, AS THEY MUST GIVE AN ACCOUNT, THAT THEY MAY DO IT WITH JOY AND NOT WITH GRIEF: FOR THAT US UNPROFITABLE FOR YOU.

He is to see that you grow and mature in your sonship to a mature son of God putting away all childish things. We have too many childish things going on in the Body of Christ and that tells us that we have many instructors in Christ but not many fathers who bring discipline and the ways and nature of the Father.

Now how does a son come to know who their spiritual father is? God will lead them to them and over time the Lord will reveal and show His nature and ways through him and the Lord will reveal that fact he is the one I have selected for you to bring you into maturity. This is not a forced relationship, this relationship only happens when the Holy Spirit reveals it to both parties and the sons desire to be fathered is mature and the two parties agree to this relationship.

Spiritual Father must be a Son

Role of the Spiritual Father

Today’s Focus: Spiritual Father Must Be a Son

Scripture: Romans 10:9; Galatians 4:6; John 1:12;

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

Now in order to become a spiritual father you must become a spiritual son. Now as simple as that may sound, it is so misguided and misunderstood today. So many people want to get saved on Sunday and go lead people by Monday. That is not how it works. Can I show you scripturally it did not even work that way with Jesus!

Jesus was 30 years old when he received the Holy Spirit. Before that between the ages of 12 and 30, the young man Jesus was being discipled by His Father into His Father’s business. Remember it was at age 12 that Jesus was in the temple, inquiring or asking questions about the Father. In the Hebrew culture at the age of 12 a boy becomes a man it is the age of accountability and they must take their exam. Now there is an apprenticeship period that every son goes through before he takes over his father’s business. Jesus was on this apprenticeship between the age of 12 and 30. Now, notice after the baptism Jesus did what? He fasted and prayed! Now that is the big elephant in the room. How many of us, fasted and prayed after receiving the Holy Spirit? I know I did not! But the teaching point here is that the father knows after we have made a decision to come out of the world and be a part of His family then we need to fast and pray because immediately the devil will come to try to deceive you and make you believe you did not receive who you received and nothing has really changed. So to be fully connected with the Father, Jesus fasted and prayed after receiving the Holy Spirit. After that Jesus comes teaching and preaching the gospel of the Kingdom in the synagogues, cities and towns. It would not be to a little time after that, that the Father would give Jesus the 12. But look at all that Jesus had went through to get to that point.

So a spiritual father must be a spiritual son first and a spiritual son must submit to the Son of God. In order to submit to the Son of God you must first repent from your ways and make Him Lord and Savior over your life and believe that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). Upon that confession the Father sends the Spirit of Christ (Son) into your heart where now you cry Father, Father (Galatians 4:6). Now that you are born of the Father, you are a newborn in Christ. God sends spiritual fathers to nurture you in the Lord and bring you to maturity. This is why John 1:12 says: But as many as receive Him, to them gave He power TO BECOME SONS OF GOD, EVEN THEM THAT BELIEVE ON HIS NAME. When he says to become sons of God He is speaking about maturing from newborn to mature son of God.

Jesus will assign a mature man to walk with you as a spiritual father much like Paul and Timothy. This man IS NOT PERFECT but has been chosen to accept the discipline of God to move from a position as an orphan to the place of a mature Son. He should be more mature than the son whom He is discipling. He should be gifted with a parenteral responsibility for the son. He should be available to the spiritual son with his time and council. He is a man who is a spiritual son to a spiritual father. This is how accountability to maintained in the House of God. A father holding his son who also is a father responsible for his actions and the souls in his care because the fathers all will have to give an account of the souls that the Lord has put in their care.

In the next message we will look at how a son and a spiritual father get connected.

Generational Blessings

Role of the Spiritual Father

Today’s Focus: Generational Blessings

Scripture: Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 28:18-20; Genesis 25:5; 28:1; Genesis 49; 1 Timothy 5:8

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

One of the unique attributes and concepts we see in the Bible, in particular the Old Testament is what is called the generational blessing. It is and always has been God’s intentions to pass along the blessings from a father to the son. Let’s look at some of these:

Genesis 25:5: Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac

Genesis 28:1: And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.

Genesis 49 (Entire Chapter): Jacob blesses His twelve sons.

So the blessings of a father are to be handed down to the sons. As those sons grow and mature, then they hand down the blessings to their sons and so on. This way the purposes of God will increase and mature. A spiritual father, John Metcalfe gave this wonderful example and I would like to use it here:

The ancient builders of cathedrals in Europe would begin the work by planting acorns first. They knew their grandsons would need to harvest the oak trees to complete the roofing on the great buildings.

This means these fathers were looking ahead and planting blessings for the generations to come. This is why the scripture says:

1 Timothy 5:8: But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel

The concept of the generational blessing is that the son takes from the father and builds. Are we generationally blessing the sons of God today? Sadly we are doing it on a very minimal scale and let me explain. The church, who are the believers, not the building is supposed to be a family. We are the House of God. Now, what God designed and what we are doing for the most part are two separate things producing two completely different results. In denominational religion we have children who are born into it and all they know is the denomination and so whatever the denomination teaches, that is all they know. If the denomination has been doing conferences for 50 plus years and does it the same way, as that child grows “in the denomination” they become a part of the machine and simply continue what the fathers have already ordained. For a great example, let’s go back to the builders of the cathedrals. That is like my father, planting the acorns and then when I grow up, I plant acorns but nobody is building the building. So it is a circle of ways established by the denomination and many may not want to admit it but they themselves are not maturing the sons. Their goal is to bring in as many members as they can. So the denomination simply reproduces itself and not mature the son, they mature the denomination. Now let’s look at God’s way of doing it and look at it’s results.

God sends His Son and gives Him 12 sons to start the Holy Nation. In turn His Son, Jesus is also a Father (Everlasting Father, Isaiah 9:6). After discipling and maturing those sons, He hands the ministry over to them and tell them to continue the ministry by making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20). What this does is grow the House of God but not just in numbers. As those 12 (Mathias in place of Judas) distributed bread and wine and matured their sons, those sons come to maturity and father other sons. Now what God does is He reveals more and more of Himself to every generation so the maturation does not stick with a 500 year old revelation but there are eternal truths being revealed to continue to prepare the Body of Christ for the return of the Lord. Hence God is bringing His fractured Body to order. To walk in the ways of the Lord, it requires a believer to fast and pray. The reason I say this is because, if you have grown up denominationally then the denomination is in you hard and it requires God to separate the traditions of men from His ways.

To be honest, I do not know how you put God’s way of maturing the Body in an institutional church when it is predicated on fathers and sons. Are we willing to give up the machine and do it God’s way? There is grace in doing it God’s way. Are we willing to give up the titles and allow God to manifest His gifts through us as we mature? Are we willing to be fathered and discipled in the ways and nature of the Father?

In the next message we will look at how do we migrate from the institutional mindset to the household mindset.

Results and Consequences of Consistency and Inconsistency

Role of the Spiritual Father

Today’s Focus: The Results and Consequences of Consistency and Inconsistency

Scripture: John 5:19; Ephesians 6:4

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

Why is the world the way it is? Simply, a lack of fathers. When there is a lack of fathers there is a lack of discipline and order in the lives of children. Now we left off the last message with John 5:19 where Jesus says whatever I see the Father do, I do. This is the model, to be one with the Father. In our society today many fathers can care less what their sons are doing. They just let the children grow to be what they want to be. Many fathers allow the children to go uncheck just as long as they are not aggravating him. Now what is so bad about this is when you mix religion in it. So now we have a child that see the father pay no attention to them, let them do whatever they want, yell, scream and fuss all the time when he gets aggravated but on Sunday he is the pastor or deacon of the church screaming hallelujah and praise the Lord. The children see a Sunday man and a Monday through Saturday man. The children can pick up on this inconsistency and know that the way their father is living is wrong. Hence you have children that grow up and say “I do not want to be like my father”. This is a very devastating mindset to have because even though the child has a biological father, the child feels fatherless making them an orphan mentally in a house with a father. Now I am specifically not dealing with mothers because most times it is the fathers that are lacking and for the sake of this series we are looking at spiritual fathers.

Now that we know the mindset of the children is an orphan even though they are living under their father’s roof, what is the mindset of the father? He is an orphan too! A father like this is only concerned about his own interests and he has learned how to run, hide, and shift blame (remember Adam in the Garden). His premier motivation is to possess, acquire and control. Sounds just like the culture of the orphan. So now we have an orphan trying to father a orphan. That will not work. There is really not a focus on the spiritual growth of the children to bring them into adulthood, the father has handed that down to the pastor and the school system. Huh? Yes, where do you think the term “youth pastor” even came from? I have not found anywhere in scripture where God said ordain a “youth pastor”. But I do know that the scripture clearly says:

Ephesians 6:4: AND YE FATHERS, PROVOKE NOT YOUR CHILDREN TO WRATH: BUT BRING THEM UP IN THE NURTURE AND ADMONITION OF THE LORD.

So whose responsibility is it to bring and rear the children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord? THE FATHERS. Now this means the fathers must be spiritually lead and be mature to do this. This means we cannot live by the “do as I say, not as I do rule” this breeds hypocrisy. But we must live by the rule “do as I say and as I do” just like Jesus was lead by the Father. This relationship and maturation is a hands-on experience and one that God will not allow you to delegate your responsibility to another. What is a shame is that the father who choose not to step up will send their children to a church house. Please pay attention. Because they lack spiritual maturity and discernment, they will drop the children off at the church and then go back home. Never mind that they are teaching damnable heresies in the church. Never mind if they are teaching that homosexuality is ok because God loves everybody and everything. God designed the maturation process of natural children AS WELL AS HIS CHILDREN to grow through fathers. This is why spiritual fathers are the answer for the world today because they put on display the exact representation of the Father so that the sons can mature. This way of living promotes the “do as I say and do” culture because the spiritual father is connected and has been matured by the Father and the counsel and ways being demonstrated are the same ways and nature demonstrated by the Father. When there is consistency then there is credibility and then there is growth and maturation. This is the desire for the spiritual father to be an example unto the sons.

In the next message we will look at generational blessings of the fathers.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,

Calvin Calhoun, Jr.

New Teaching Series: Role of the Spiritual Father

Role of the Spiritual Father

Today’s Focus: A Father’s Desire

Scripture: Matthew 3:13-17; John 5:19

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

Growing up as a young boy in my parent’s house, I can distinctly remember times when my father was always introducing me and my brothers to family. I remember saying “man, dad wants us to know everybody” and at the time I did not think I would remember anybody because there was so many. My father would speak about the past and the way things were and how His father raised him. I can even remember times when we stepped out of line with family and how any and everybody could have disciplined and punished us. Hey, I can remember hearing my dad say “If he acts up, blister his butt”. Now I am being real about this but my father was huge on respect for your elders outside of your immediate family. I remember times when my dad would say: “Hey guys I am proud of you”. But one thing I do remember distinctly is that he did not accept failure on any level. He believed that we could be the best and anything and mediocre was not acceptable. He pushed us hard and sometimes it did not work because of our personalities but nonetheless he pushed because he loved. As a young man I did not understand it all but now as I have grown I can appreciate what my father was doing and how he desired that we carry on the family name and take it to the next level, never forgetting the foundations that were laid by those before us. I said all this and I am sure that many of you can relate but unfortunately, and this saddens my heart, some cannot because there was no father in the home to discipline and hold these things down. The role of a father in these days is more crucial than ever and with two sons, I am understanding more and more the importance of focusing on the spiritual growth of my family.

When we talk about spiritual fathers, we have stated that it is a mature son of God demonstrating the ways and nature of the Father. Now just like it was my father’s desire for me to take the family to the next level and take it past where he and his brothers brought it, so is it with the spiritual father. There is a since of pride that a father receives when their son is achieving and growing beyond the heights that they made it to. The spiritual father delights in this same thing. The spiritual father’s role is to mature the sons. He desires and longs for the children that God has assigned him to mature to learn from him and then take it to the next step in preparing the sons for the return of Christ. The pride he has comes from a loving heart and affection for the sons. Now the sons know that the fathers love them because it is evident in the time spent in teaching and nurturing the son. The sons obedience to their fathers bring honor to the house and joy into the father’s heart. A great example of this is our Elder Brother, Jesus Christ. Let me show you!

Matthew 3:13-17: Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John to be baptized of him. But John forbade him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered Him. And Jesus when He was baptized, went straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from Heaven, saying: THIS IS MY BELOVED SON IN WHOM I AM WELL PLEASED

The Father was extremely proud of His son for His obedience and submission unto Him. Jesus understood that to be one with the Father, He must be submitted, spirit, soul and flesh to Him. In being one with the Father there is a consistency brought to the Earth in this fact:

John 5:19: Verily verily I say unto you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

This is the consistency a spiritual father must demonstrate. In the next message we will look at the results of inconsistent fathering on the natural and spiritual level.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,

Calvin Calhoun, Jr.

Confrontations and Righteous Rule

Culture of Righteous Rule

Today’s Focus: Confrontations and Righteous Rule

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17-20; Colossians 2:8; Ephesians 6:11; James 3:14-18

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

Before the foundation of the world we as the sons of God were predestined to bring God’s rulership to the earth. The Spirit housed in this human form has a predetermined destiny to show the glory of God in the Earth. We know that the glory of God is God’s goodness toward us. His goodness is His presence (Holy Spirit) abiding in us with our spirit and we becoming one with the Father, just like Jesus. We are to put on display the culture of Heaven in the earth so that men will see the divine nature and be changed. When Christ shows through you men will be drawn into the Kingdom by His Spirit. This is the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:17-20) and that is why we are here. We are not here to toil sweat and stress over bread but to put on display the Culture of the Kingdom of Righteous Rule. Now knowing all of this we will encounter the enemy. This is a reality to every son of God.

Conflict is always at the doorpost of the sons of God. Jesus is the perfect example. Now how we deal with that conflict really shows the divine nature that we should possess. One of the things we get caught up in is when dealing with people we must allow the Spirit to discern the situation. Growing up I was the anti-fight child. I did not want to fight. My father would try to teach me some self-defense moves but I knew I would never use them because for one, I really believed I had no friends and it was me against the world. So to fight back in my eyes was futile. I was saved but did not really understand it but then this scripture really brought it home for me about where the fight lies:

Ephesians 6:11: For we wrestle NOT AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places

So the fight is not between me and you or between me and my classmates. The fight was always between God and the devil and when the devil attacks we are to be equipped with protection and a weapon to fight back the enemy. When there is an attack from the enemy we should never fear because we have the love of God that casts out all fear.

James 3:14,15: But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above , but is EARTHLY, SENSUAL (SOULISH), DEVILISH. FOR WHERE ENVYING AND STRIFE IS THERE IS CONFUSION AND EVERY EVIL WORK.

See in the midst of conflict there is a way we as the sons of God should act towards one another and the unbeliever. Because the unbeliever knows not God then envy and strife should be a common reaction but we have a different reaction:

James 3:17-18: But the wisdom that is from above (Heavenly) is first pure (honest), then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

So Blessed are the peacemakers for they are the children of God. Now do not take this meekness for weakness. When it is time to engage the enemy God has given us the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God and I will swing the sword every time the enemy gets in the way. We have to be confident of this but the problem is if you do not know or have a relationship with the Word of God then how can you use an instrument or weapon that you have not practiced or understood its use. The Lord said this to me and it was unique but very true:

“When we do not handle the Word of God properly we will swing the sword and hit any and everybody who threatens us.”

We do not swing the sword to hit any and everybody, we use the Word of God as the Spirit leads us. When used properly it convicts, makes free, restores, comforts and corrects the unbeliever and the sons of God. Moreover we need to be careful of people who use the word of God in improper manners. Paul said this to Colosse:

Colossians 2:8: Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Our rulership, dominion is steeped in righteousness and submission. We as the sons of God are to bring the rulership of God by displaying the culture of Heaven in Earth. We have no power of our own to do this. God has given us governmental gifts to bring the rulership and mature others so that they themselves can disciple and mature others in the ways of the Father. We as the sons of God are not about taking over the old but ushering the new like our brother Jesus Christ. We put on display the new life in the Spirit. The Kingdom of God is an everlasting Kingdom and will be the last Kingdom for ever. Every other kingdom will die so I urge you today to get under the rulership of the King, learn of your identity and how you are to bring the culture of righteous rule to the Earth.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,

Calvin Calhoun, Jr.

Types and Shadows: A Suppressed Reality Part 2

Culture of Righteous Rule

Today’s Focus: Types and Shadows: A Suppressed Reality Part 2

Scripture: Hebrews 8:4,5; Exodus 25:40; 1 Corinthians 6:19,20

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

Now as it pertains to the church, God is revealing eternal truths and heavenly realities to the Body of Christ to mature them to the full stature of Christ. Now what happens is religion catches hold of us and religion always exalts the type and shadow as the reality and this is wrong. Even when it comes to tithing many, and I mean many people are still living under the Law as it pertains to the tithe and religion or even some denominations use the Law and Levitical order towards the tithe as the reason why people should tithe. Funny, in some areas of Christianity, if you do not tithe then you are not a member of the church and you cannot participate in certain functions of that denomination. Is this biblical? The reality of heavenly things exists and the shadow of heavenly things are seen in the earth as a copy and shadow. The thing in the earth is simply a representation of the reality. Let’s look at these scriptures for a context:

Hebrews 8:4,5: For if He were on Earth, He should not be a priest, seeing that there are priest that offer gifts according to the Law: Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle (temple): for See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

Exodus 25:40: And look (see) that thou make them after their pattern, which was shewed thee in the mount.

God designed the temple a certain way so that when the heavenly reality came, they had something on earth preceding it to look at and grab hold of and see what God really was saying or doing. The priest that served in the temple at Jerusalem were serving a type and shadow of a reality. This is why Paul can say this to the church at Corinth:

1 Corinthians 6:19,20: What? Know ye not that YOUR BODY IS THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY GHOST WHICH IS IN YOU, WHICH YE HAVE OF GOD, AND YE ARE NOT YOUR OWN? FOR YE ARE BROUGHT WITH A PRICE: THEREFORE GLORIFY GOD IN YOUR BODY AND IN YOUR SPIRIT WHICH ARE GOD’S.

Now the type and shadow gives way to the reality. We are currently in a time where the reality is converging with the spirits of righteous men and changes the view of earthly things to the reality and purpose that God designed. So when the reality comes we need to abandon the type and shadow and live in the eternal. When God brings the reality then that is what we will be judged by. If God does not bring the reality then we a judged by the type and shadow. So now the question is: Are you serving the Father through the type and shadow when the reality has already come? Or are you serving the Father in truth and in spirit?

In the next message we will look at the sons predestined culture of rulership.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,

Type and Shadow: A Suppressed Reality

Culture of Righteous Rule

Today’s Focus: Type and Shadows: A Suppressed Reality

Scripture: Matthew 23:37-39

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

So many times we think we are living the eternal reality of a thing and the fact is we are still living in the type and shadow of it. Now we have talked extensively about types and shadows and how they are the things not the reality but the symbols that hold you until God reveals the reality of the thing to you. Remember the pattern is eternity to time and back to eternity.

The only reason God spoke to us in types and shadows was because of sin. Sin separated us from the Father and we could not have fellowship Spirit to spirit. So God speaks in a way so that your soul can understand what God is saying. This type of communication is called type and shadow. Now God never intended on keeping you in type and shadow because remember the pattern is that we end with the eternal and if we end with the eternal, then God has to reveal the reality of the type and shadow so that we have a clear picture of what God is saying and/or doing. To speak to us in parables, types and shadows really shows the love of God. It reminds me of how we deal with children. When they are babes and adolescents we speak in way that they can understand but when they grow up, they then will see the reality of the thing you spoke to them years ago. This is the same concept with the church.

God is still speaking in types and shadows to the church and sadly God has revealed eternal realities about the church to the church but yet many still live in the type and shadow. Now for many people there has to be a trigger or that thing or situation that really hits them that they start pursuing the truth and reality of God. Only a passionate pursuer of the truth will have an encounter with Holy Spirit that will set the ball in motion to remove the veil from the things God wants to show them. Now for those of us that are comfortable in Christian religion and do not want to stir the waves and rock the boat, you will miss the day of His visitation for your generation. Here is a great scripture to how the generation in the day of Jesus was so stuck in type and shadow that they missed the reality when it came:

Matthew 23:37-39: O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold your house is left desolate. For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

God had sent prophets and men of God to show the people and prepare the people for the coming of the reality, The Lord, The Messiah. But yet the people killed them and stoned them because the Word of God convicts and brings judgment to those not aligned with it. Remember orphans view correction as violent and not discipline and love. So their reaction is and can be of a violent nature. Now until the people seek and desire the truth for themselves, they will always live and deal with God from behind the veil and that is to live in type and shadow.

I will continue this in the next message.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,

The Law of the House of God: Standard for the World

Culture of Righteous Rule

Today’s Focus: The Law of the House of God: Standard for the World

Scripture: Matthew 6:10; Exodus 19:5,6; Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:1,2

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

The Law of the House of God is the substance that aligns the purposes of Heaven with the earth. The Law of the House of God adjust the systems of the world to choreograph it’s agenda to suite the purposes of the Eternal. This is why we pray:

Matthew 6:10: They Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven.

We want the rulership of God, His laws, decrees and commands to rule in our lives and when we line up with those laws, God has children who He can operate through to bring His Will to the Earth. His children put on display a different culture and system of living that defies the world’s ways and systems of doing things. For example, in this world people get by taking by force and looking out for oneself. In the Kingdom, the sons receive by giving and laying down their lives for someone else. So we have two systems on the same Earth. But here is the mind blowing aspect to all of this. The Kingdom of God is the original government on Earth. It was the first government on the Earth and will be the last and eternal government. What should this tell us? It tells us that we need to study our constitution and laws in order to live righteously in our Father’s House and His Kingdom. Let me give you a great example:

In our natural parent’s house, there are rules or laws that the children should abide by, just as well the parents should too. These laws frame and align the household to be able to run smoothly and everyone live in harmony.

Proverbs 22:6: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Ephesians 6:1,2: Children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right, Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; that it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

The phrase “train up” in Hebrew is the word “chanak” and it means to discipline. How do we discipline someone? We impose standards and exhibit those standards in our very own lives so that others when they look at us they will see the standard by which they are to follow. When the parents train the children up in the Lord and the children obey and honor the parents, what we have is harmony and a natural standard showing a eternal reality.

The Standard for the Law of the House of God is the Father. He has laid out rules, commandments and decrees for His children. When we align up with those rules (righteousness) then even though the Father is invisible, the natural man can see God in us and through by the standards and laws that we live by. If we did not live by the standards of the Father then the Father could not be seen. For over 4,000 years that standard was suppressed due to the sin of man, but God in all of His love, sent His standard, His Son, The Word of God, Jesus Christ into the Earth to show us the standard again. Now watch this:

There was already a standard in the Earth when Jesus came and it was called the Law. The Law of Moses was given to preserve and protect and make a nation of Israel. Jesus ran into many conflicts with the administrators of the Law, namely the Pharisees. They would on many occasions try to trap Jesus using the Law. But what they could not see and understand that the fulfillment of Law, the giver of that Law was standing before them and now He was ushering in the reality of the current standard that was set called the Law of Moses. Remember the Law was given because of their rejection of the first covenant which would have made them a Holy Nation and a Kingdom of Priests (Exodus 19:5,6). That is the original standard but because their rejection and God’s unfailing love, He gave them the Law which they could live by until the fulfillment of the Law comes and restores the eternal order which makes men mature Sons of God to bring righteous rule to the Earth.

In the next message we will look at the consequences of living through the types and shadows and not the eternal reality.

The Eternal Pattern of the Father for the Sons

Culture of Righteous Rule

Today’s Focus: The Eternal Pattern of the Father for the Sons

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 5:28

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

Now I know this topic is unique and you may ask what is the “eternal pattern”? Before God even created the earth, God knew everything that would be and how it would end. God knew the end from the beginning. God knew that man would sin and be separated from Him. God knew that man would give rule in the earth over to a fallen angel. God also knew that man would have to be saved to fulfill the eternal purpose and hence the Lamb was slain before the foundations of the world but let’s look at this pattern that God is using to bring the Sons of God to their eternal purpose.

The pattern for the process is to begin in eternity, proceed in time, but end in eternity. Now let me give you a great example of this.

The Lamb was slain before the foundation of the world (eternity)

Jesus Christ is the Lamb slain at Calvary (time)

All power and authority in Heaven and Earth is given to Christ Jesus by the Father (eternity)

This entire process ends when Jesus Christ hands up all things to God the Father and the Father will be all in all. Sound weird? Let’s see:

1 Corinthians 5:28: And when all things shall be subdued unto Him (Jesus Christ), then shall the Son (Jesus Christ) also Himself be subject unto Him (Father) that put all things under Him (Jesus), THAT GOD MAY BE ALL IN ALL.

So that is the end of the matter, God being all He is, in all of us being unrestrained by who He is in. All of the divine mandates and intents of the Trinity is concluded in the eternal. How about this thought. Did we not come from eternity? Where are we now? In time. What is our end existence? The eternal. Do we see the pattern?

God in all of His patience waits for righteous men to get right-aligned with heaven and when God finds a man willing to walk by faith and build what He (Father) has on His mind, God then pours out His power and authority (grace) that is needed in that season that will guarantee the outcome of that particular substance. This substance is the Law of the House of God.

In the next message we will look at the Law of the House of God.

The Current World and the God of this World

Culture of Righteous Rule

Today’s Focus: This Current World and the God of this World

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:3,4; Hebrews 1:13,14; 1 John 2:15

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

Now we know that the state of this world is in a bad condition. We know it is because of fatherlessness or sin. Once Adam fell, dominion or control in this world was lost and now it is being managed by a fallen angel named Satan. How do we know this:

2 Corinthians 4:3,4: But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them

So here we have Satan blinding the minds of the unbelievers. How does He try to keep these people under his influence? He does it through worldly systems. Let’s use this scripture to define this:

1 John 2:15: Love not the world, NEITHER THE THINGS THAT ARE IN THE WORLD. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in Him.

Very convicting scripture but it says Love not the world nor the things of the world. Is it saying we should hate the earth? No. Should we hate everything in the Earth? No. When God was creating the earth after everything He created He looked back and said “it is good”. Now on the sixth day when He created man, after he was finished He said “it is very good”. So God was very happy with what He had created and who He had put in the Earth. So why would God say “Love not the world nor the things that are in the world. The answer is in the definition of the word “world”

The word “world” in 1 John 2:15 is the Greek word “kosmos” meaning orderly arrangement. So God tells us to not love the orderly arrangement or ways of the world. Why? Because the ways or systems of this world are under the control of Satan. I know this is a strong statement but if we are progressing to the Satan’s Global Kingdom then He must be in control of the various systems to bring them under his rule. Satan and the other fallen spirits are limited to earth’s realm. Satan has no jurisdiction in the Highest Heaven where the Throne of God is and He has no jurisdiction in the second heaven because that is where he was exiled to from the Highest Heaven. Satan remains in the second heaven because he is a spirit being and he needs a human body to interact with this world in the earth.

So we need to understand our adversary because he studies us. How does he know what buttons to push. How does he know how to get you off your game? Satan is not omnipresent so we need to stop saying “satan made me do it”. One of the spiritual laws God instituted was free will. Satan cannot make you do anything. He can try to influence you, persuade you, set the atmosphere to trap you, but never make you. You must consent freely. Now that is a thought. Now before we close this let me show you some things in scripture about the angels and their position as it relates to the sons of God and the Kingdom.

Hebrews 1:13,14: But to which of the angels said He at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be the heirs of salvation?

The angels have their place and that is to serve the heirs of salvation. Who are the heirs of salvation? The sons of God. Now this brings us to this problem with Satan and the fallen spirits. If their capacity is to only serve, then why do they seek the worship from men? Anytime you are out of your purpose or aspire to be higher than who God created you to be, then you are of no use and evil because you, yourself are seeking self-exaltation and exalting self is inherently evil and anti-Christ.

Destined to Rule

Culture of Righteous Rule

Today’s Focus: Destined to Rule

Scripture: Genesis 1:26; Hebrews 1:10-12; 2:5; Revelation 21:1

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

When we talk about righteous rule we are talking about the central purpose in being deployed to the earth. If we are in the image and after the likeness of the Father then like our Father, we are born to rule. Now rulership is not some free-will and oppressing attribute. Our rulership is constrained because we as the sons are constrained to the Will of the Father. God sends Holy Spirit to lead and guide us and we are to do whatever we hear and see the Father do. This means we walk in truth and in spirit and bring the rulership of God from Heaven to the Earth. Now God gave us the earth to rule in.

Genesis 1:26: Let us make man in our image (spirit), after our likeness (character) and let them have DOMINION over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creepeth on the earth.

So God has placed His sons in the Earth bring the rulership of God (dominion) from Heaven to Earth. We have dominion in the earth. The environment in the Earth that we are to have dominion is one that was set up and controlled from the very beginning.

Hebrews 1:10-12: And Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: They shall perish; but thou remainst; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; and as a vesture shalt thou fold them up and they shall be changed; but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.

In the beginning the foundation of the earth was made by the Lord and everything in it was for our benefit and use. God made things in the earth to represent eternal truths about Him. A great example is how animals migrate season to season. This is a great example of how we need to learn to migrate from season to season in the grace of the Lord. Now the thing that God is doing and been doing since the day of the Lord, Jesus Christ is producing mature sons in the realm of time, that will establish the righteous order of rule in a eternal world to come. The reason God is doing it this way is to expunge sin so that sin cannot taint the new world to come. What is the new world to come:

Revelation 21:1: And I saw a New Heaven and New earth: for the first heaven and first earth were passed away and there was no more sea.

This new heaven and earth will not be subjected to angels but to mature Sons of God. “Hebrews 2:5: For unto the angels hath HE NOT PUT IN SUBJECTION THE WORLD TO COME WHEREOF WE SPEAK.” The new world will be borderless insomuch that it will have it’s operations of righteous rule in the heavens and earth. We as the sons of God are destined to rule but we must first come in the maturity of Christ

Now we have talked about the world to come, what about this world? We will discuss this in the next message.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,

Calvin Calhoun, Jr.
