Fulfillment of Prophecies Part 1

Israel: The Kingdom’s 42nd Immortal Generation

Today’s Focus: We Are the Israel of God: Fulfillment of Prophecies Part 1

Scripture: Genesis 32:28; 37:7; Romans 8:28; 29; Matthew 2:13

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

Now I know some people want proof because we live in a “I believe if it, if I see it” type of society but what is funny about that is the fact that we walk by faith and faith requires you to believe in whom you cannot see. Now as it pertains to this topic the Word of God is going to confirm this and this is a major reason why you cannot just study the New Testament because the Old Testament really explains in a type and shadow way, why the New Testament is what it is and why Our Lord and Savior went through the things He did, even though He was God in the flesh. So let’s look at these prophecies and show you that those who are born again are the Israel of God.

Firstborn Son

Jacob after having his name changed to Israel the man tells Jacob that he is a prince that hast power with God and with men and hast prevailed (Genesis 32:28). If God is the King or Ruler of all that makes his son a Prince of God. Hence, Israel is a true son of God. Jacob was the natural bloodline that would be fulfilled as a spiritual son of God. We know that Jesus is the end of the natural lineage and the fulfillment of all Old Testament prophecy and ushers in a new lineage of sons who are sons of God not by blood but by the Spirit. Jesus was given this title by Paul:

Romans 8:28,29: And we know that all things work together for the good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, THAT HE MIGHT BE THE FIRSTBORN AMONG MANY BRETHERN.

Just as Jacob or Israel was the firstborn of many brothers of the natural lineage of physical Israel, Jesus or Israel is the firstborn of many brethren or descendents who are also called the sons of God and spiritual Israel of God.

Dreaming into Egypt

Joseph, one of the 12 sons of Jacob had a dream and told his brethren the dream and this is it:

Genesis 37:7: For behold, we (brothers) were binding sheaves in the field (Egypt), and lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf

Joseph had a dream that his brothers would be under his rule one day. Did this happen? Yes! When? When the children of Israel went into Egypt when Joseph was exalted to a ruler in Egypt. So the children of Israel went into Egypt. Here is the reality. Jesus when He was a baby, we know that Herod sought to kill him because of the wise men telling Herod that the King had been born. But look at how this happens.

Matthew 2:13: And when they were departed, behold, THE ANGEL OF THE LORD APPEARETH TO JOSEPH IN A DREAM. SAYING ARISE AND TAKE THE YOUNG CHILD (JESUS) AND HIS MOTHER AND FLEE INTO EGYPT; and be though there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy Him.

So we have Joseph, one of the 12 sons of Israel dreaming of that the children of Israel would be in Egypt and we have Joseph the God-appointed father to Jesus dreaming to take Jesus, who is God’s Israel into Egypt.

We will continue to draw these parallels between the Old Testament prophecies and New Testament realities that we are the Israel of God.

Spiritual Israel: The Immortal Generation

Israel: The Kingdom’s 42nd Immortal Generation

Today’s Focus: Spiritual Israel: The Immortal Generation

Scripture: Exodus 19:5,6

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

We are the Spiritual Israel of God, The Immortal 42nd Generation

Now I know somebody has jumped ship on this note but the Word of God will prove this. This will probably be one of the most important set of messages of this series. What has been taught for hundreds of years is that physical Israel is God’s chosen people and they are going to get in because they are and because they are Jews. Really? Some people put the measuring stick to people that they must love physical Israel to associate themselves with them. Now do not get me wrong I fell into this mentality also but I thank God this day that He has made me free by the truth of the Word of God. Now in order to show this to be the truth we must use the truth.

Now over the past messages we have made these clear and concise eternal truths:

1. We are the sons of God that are saved by God

2. We are citizens of the Kingdom

3. The arrival of the Lord ushered in a New Season, changing the lineage from physical to spiritual

4. Jesus sprang from the Tribe of Judah and changed the lineage from natural blood to spiritual and ordering this linage under the order of Melchizedek

5. The meaning of Israel is “He that is saved by God or God rules”

Now number 3 and 4 should be the obvious give-away to this being a truth but for many because it has been ingrained in us that the physical Israel are the chosen people of God and then there is everyone else. We need the Word of God to separate this from us and help us to understand that the sons of God are the Spiritual Israel of God. Understand that physical Israel was placed in the earth to carry the name of God and the seed that should come to deliver the people. The deliverer of course is Shiloh and we know this is Jesus Christ. Now when Jesus came, He came to offer the Kingdom and the Eternal Covenant of Sonship. This is the first covenant that the children of physical Israel were offered at Sinai (Exodus 19:5,6). We know they rejected that covenant and were given another covenant, The Law of Moses. So now we have Christ coming to offer the first covenant again which will make the physical, spiritual sons, a royal priesthood and a holy nation. How do we partakers of this covenant?

Having faith in Jesus Christ, that He is the Messiah, the Lord and the one whom God raised from the Dead.

You cannot be a partaker of this covenant and be a part of this nation, the House of God and the Kingdom of God if this is not true in your life. That is the break point.

In the next message we will start to draw some parallels in scripture to prove we are the Spiritual Israel of God.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,

Restoring the Glory of the House of God

Israel: The Kingdom’s 42nd Immortal Generation

Today’s Focus: Restoring the Glory of the House of God

Scripture: 2 Samuel 7:11-13; Ephesians 2:22; Hebrews 1:2,3; 1 Peter 2:5

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

David is known as “a man after God’s heart”. Now let me show you why. In 2 Samuel 7 we see an interaction between Nathan the prophet and King David.

2 Samuel 7:2: That the king (David) said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the Ark of God dwelleth within curtains. And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the Lord is with thee.

So in David’s heart he realized that he is sitting in a luxurious house but the Ark of God is under curtains. This bothered David seeing that the Lord has delivered David from all his enemies. Knowing this bothered David the Lord spoke to Nathan the prophet to tell him what to tell David. Let me highlight some of this for the sake of time.

God wants to inform David that God has not dwelt in any house since the time of the deliverance of the children of Israel out of Egypt but has walked in a tent and in a tabernacle (2 Sam. 7:6). We know that the Ark of the Covenant symbolized the presence of God. God reminded David that He took him from watching over sheep to King over God’s people, over Israel (2 Sam 7:8). God assures David that He will appoint a place for His people and the children of wickedness shall not afflict them (2 Samuel 7:10). Now here comes the big picture:

2 Samuel 7:11: And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the Lord telleth thee (David), that he will make thee an house.

Now this is major. David wanted to build God a physical house. God said I have a better idea I will build you a house. The word house here refers not to a physical building but a family. God knows the end from the beginning and a physical house is temporary. God want to give something to David that will last forever and God goes on to explain this:

2 Samuel 7:12,13: And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers , I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom forever.

Now this can be looked at in two ways and some theologians view it in these two ways. Some say God is speaking of Solomon who will be the seed that come out of David and he will build the house (temple) for God’s name. Now the only problem I have with this is that it does not take into account verse 13 which speaks of him building the house for God and God establishing his throne FOR EVER. Now let’s look at this from this perspective. We already concluded that God wanted to build a family for David. God states after David is sleep with his fathers, meaning after he has died. Now God says the “He will set up thy seed after him” In other words, “God will set up the family and establish His Kingdom or rule”. Here it is, watch this. The scripture says “He shall build a house (family) for my name, and I will establish the throne of His Kingdom forever. This passage of scripture is referring to the Lord Jesus Christ. How do we know, let’s see:

Matthew 16:18b: Upon this rock (Christ, the Son of the Living God) I will build my church…

Ephesians 2:22: In whom (Christ) ye also are builded together for a habitation (temple or house) of God through the Spirit

1 Peter 2:5: ye also as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Do we see this? God is not interested in a building. He is more interested in you being a part of the Holy Family. It is the Holy Spirit that builds the house under the direction of the Son, Jesus Christ. Now let’s bring it home.

Hebrews 1:2,3: Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on High.

The 42nd Immortal Generation of sons of God are to be the radiance of the Father’s glory in the Earth. They are mature sons that constitute the House of God following the pattern laid out by Jesus Christ. These sons are committed to restoring the House of God with lost sons of promise and are prepared to lay down the rulership of their own lives for the sake of their brothers.

In the next message we will start to look at the name of this Holy Nation that is brought forth through Jesus Christ.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,

Fathering Within the Tribe

Israel: The Kingdom’s 42nd Immortal Generation

Today’s Focus: Fathering Within the Tribe

Scripture: Hebrews 12:9; Ephesians 5:25; Titus 2:4

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

Since the order is changed from physical to spiritual, the fathers who raise or bring sons to maturity are fathers not by blood but by the Spirit. Let me explain. God is the Father of our spirits.

Hebrews 12:9: Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

So it is not about the flesh but of the spirit. Now these spiritual fathers are very unique in their fathering and their approach and attitude toward the sons. We know that they display the love and character of the Father. However the fathers do not highlight their status but they give way to the sons. The Father’s bless the sons. The Father blesses us and so also should the spiritual fathers bless the sons. The Heavenly Father does everything for His sons and the sons work for nothing but still have access to everything. Let me show you a mystery revealed:

Paul spoke about Husbands and Wives to the church at Ephesus and to his son Titus.

Ephesians 5:25: Husbands love your wives even as Christ lived the church, and gave Himself for it.

Titus 2:4: That they may teach (elder women) the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

Hence Husbands (fathers/Christ) are to lay down their lives for their wives (sons/Church). The wife (sons/Church) are to love their husbands (fathers/Christ). Do we see the parallel? It is not about a Sunday, Praise and Worship Service but about a Holy Family in the Kingdom of God. The common denominator within the House of God is love. The new commandment that Jesus gave was that we are to love one another. Jesus gave His life for the sons that we may live and be restored back into the House of God. The Trinity loves one another by being prepared to die for each other by serving each other’s end. Jesus did that for us. Hence the Trinity prefers the lesser (human race) before themselves. Greater love hath no man than this that he lay down his life for his friends.

In the next message I want to look back at King David and His heart to restore the glory of God and then we will continue this study in understanding the Immortal Generation.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,

The Tribe of Judah: A New Order

Israel: The Kingdom’s 42nd Immortal Generation

Today’s Focus: The Tribe of Judah: A New Order

Scripture: Hebrews 7:13-16

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

Now we left off asking the question “Are we of the Tribe of Judah”? A very valid question and we will answer this in this message. Let’s get our scripture for this discussion:

Hebrews 7:13-16: For He of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar. For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning the priesthood. And it is yet far more evident: for after the similitude of Melchizedek there ariseth another priest, Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment but after the power of an endless life. For He testifieth, Thou are a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

This is a wonderful set of scripture for this discussion and so let’s get started. First, the only people of physical Israel who can attend the altar were the Levitical priests. But now there is a contrast made in the scripture when it is stated that it is evident that our Lord sprang out of the tribe of Judah of which Moses spake nothing concerning the priesthood. Now watch this!

Now if Jesus came out of the Tribe of Judah and He is the one who changes the order from natural to spiritual, then all of the descendents or people who come from Jesus, or His brothers are of the same tribe. Does this not make sense? Are the sons of God, not also brothers of Jesus Christ? So to answer the question”

Yes, we, as the sons of God, are of the Tribe of Judah!

Now do not get so caught up and look up your Jewish roots..LOL. This Tribe of Judah is not of a natural bloodline order because remember the order has changed from physical to spiritual. Let me show you. Moses did not speak of the Tribe of Judah pertaining the priesthood because that was specifically given to Levi. This Spiritual Tribe of Judah is unique because not only is it a linage that brings forth kings but also it brings forth priests. Follow me please. Hebrews 7:15 tells us that Jesus, Our Lord is after the similitude of the Melchizedek which is another priesthood. Remember when the Law came there was a need to change the priesthood (Hebrews 7:12). Hence Jesus has come and now the priesthood has changed back to the order of Melchizedek. Now remember I said this tribe was different from the natural lineage and here is the evidence.

Hebrews 7:16: Who is made, NOT AFTER THE LAW OF CARNAL COMMANDMENT, BUT AFTER THE POWER OF AN ENDLESS (ETERNAL) LIFE.

Case closed! So if you are a son of God and Jesus is your brother then you are His descendents and of the tribe that He is of and the order of that tribe. Do not forget, the natural tribe of Judah to this day, cannot attend the altar because that is not what God ordained under the law but we are not under the law but under grace and the eternal covenant of sonship which makes us kings and priests. This is a higher and better order of the type and shadow in the Earth.

Now remember when physical Israel was set up we know that it was a family set up with fathers ruling over sons and those sons coming into maturity and raising up sons of their own. This is no different for this tribe but remember it is of a spiritual order and not along the lines of natural bloodline. In the next message we will look at the fathering within the Spiritual Tribe of Judah.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,

The Lion of the Tribe of Judah

Israel: The Kingdom’s 42nd Immortal Generation

Today’s Focus: The Lion of the Tribe of Judah

Scripture: Genesis 42:37; 43:8,9; 49:10; Hebrews 1:8,9; Revelation 5;5

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

Revelation 5:5: And one of the elders saith unto me. Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

Now we know that the Lion of the tribe of Judah is the Lord Jesus Christ. We also stated that the Tribe of Judah is a kingly lineage.

Genesis 49:10: The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto Him shall the gathering of people be.

In this scripture we see that the scepter which is a symbol of authority and power. This tribe is royalty, rulership and dominion.

Now why the tribe of Judah of all the 12 tribes? Why not Levi if Jesus is the Great High Priest and He is? But look at this particular situation and it will give open your eyes to why. Remember when Joseph was given a high governmental position in Egypt and “really” was the reason why Simeon got arrested. Well of course the boys go back to Israel, their father and he asks where is Simeon? Joseph requests that the boys bring their youngest brother back to Egypt in order to release the other brother that was being held prisoner. Israel was not happy with this because he thought he already lost Joseph and he did not want to lose Benjamin. So Reuben and Judah are speaking with their father on how to get Simeon back and two ideas was brought to the table but only one would go forth.

Reuben

Genesis 42:37: And Reuben spake unto his father, saying, SLAY MY TWO SONS, IF I BRING HIM NOT TO THEE: DELIVER HIM INTO MY HAND, AND I WILL BRING HIM TO THEE AGAIN.

Reuben asked Israel, his father to kill his two sons if he does not return back with his brothers. Now let’s look at Judah’s plan.

Judah

Genesis 43:8,9: And Judah said unto Israel his father, Send the lad with me, and we will arise and go; that we may live, and not die, both we and thou and also our little ones. I WILL BE SURETY FOR HIM; OF MY HAND SHALT THOU REQUIRE HIM: IF I BRING HIM NOT UNTO THEE, AND SET HIM BEFORE THEE, THEN LET ME BEAR THE BLAME FOR EVER.

Judah was willing to LAY DOWN HIS LIFE to restore the lost sons back to their father. Does this sound familiar? This is why Jesus is of the tribe of Judah, because He would come and lay down His life for His brothers so that they may be restored to the House of the Father.

Malachi 4:6: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Hebrews 1:8-9: But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the sceptre of thy Kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

If Jesus is of the Tribe of Judah and He has changed the lineage from natural to spiritual then do we belong to the Tribe of Judah? We will answer this question in the next message.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,

Calvin Calhoun, Jr.

Genealogy of Jesus and the 42nd Generation

Israel: The Kingdom’s 42nd Immortal Generation

Today’s Focus: Genealogy of Jesus and the 42nd Generation

Scripture: Matthew 1:17; Hebrews 7:3; Numbers 11:16,17

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

When we look at these genealogies in Scripture, many have looked over them and just skipped them as irrelevant but these genealogies are loaded with a wealth of knowledge but most of all they will show us who we are as sons of God. Let’s get right into and look at the genealogy in Matthew 1.

Matthew 1:17: So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

So we see the Scripture saying that there are 3 sets of 14 generations to Christ equaling 42 generations. Now when we count the natural order of father begot son, it only comes up to 41. Now are the Scriptures contradicting itself? Of course not. Christ is the end of the linage but also the beginning of another type of lineage. Weird isn’t it. Jesus Christ is the only begotten spiritual son of the Father of our spirits. So what has changed? We see the natural give way to the spiritual. Jesus was after the order of Melchizedek:

Hebrews 7:3; Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; BUT MADE LIKE UNTO THE SON OF GOD; ABIDETH A PREIST FOREVER.

So the new lineage beginning instituted by Christ is a spiritual family, The House of God, The Kingdom of God, the Body of Christ. So the 42nd Generation is a spiritual linage that is also eternal. Now before we go any further let’s go back to prove this because there is a type and a shadow to this in the Old Testament. The type and shadow is Moses and the nation of Israel. God chose to set a righteous man over a unrighteous Israel and choosing seventy more just like Moses to create a nation. The number 70 is significant for forgiving and a peaceful nation. But watch this because in the church we do not follow this model and this is the type and shadow so the reality is very close to this:

Numbers 11:16,17: And the Lord said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee. And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I WILL TAKE OF THE SPIRIT (HOLY SPIRIT) WHICH IS UPON YOU (MOSES) AND WILL PUT IT UPON THEM (ELDERS) AND THEY SHALL BEAR THE BURDEN OF THE PEOPLE WITH THEE, THAT THOU BEAR IT NOT THYSELF ALONE.

Have we thought about this design of caring for the heritage who are the children of the Lord. Our design is one man over a set congregation. Can that man bear all of the burdens of the people alone? Of course not! Yes Moses was given the grace to be the leader but God also ordained 70 other elders to assist him with oversight of the people. Do we see this in the church today? Barely because many pastors are orphans and cannot bear to think to have others assist him with oversight over the Body of Christ. But when all you care about is numbers and members, all you need is the latest gimmick and run that until the world tells you to change it.

In the next message we will continue to look at this Immortal 42nd Generation and the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,

The Physical Nation of Israel to the Messiah

Israel: The Kingdom’s 42nd Immortal Generation

Today’s Focus: The Physical Nation of Israel to the Messiah

Scripture: Genesis 3:15; Genesis 49:10; Matthew 1:1

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

Now this is about to start getting a little deep but the good thing is the Word of God lays this out clearly for us. Now we know it would be through physical Israel that the seed should come. The seed we are speaking of is Christ. The first promise of the coming of the Messiah was made to the devil.

Genesis 3:15: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed, it shall bruise thy head and thou shalt bruise His heel.

Now we know that the seed of Christ would come through the Tribe of Judah. Watch this:

Genesis 49:10: The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between His feet, until Shiloh come; and unto Him shall the gathering of the people be.

Who is Shiloh? The Lord Jesus Christ! So now we have the Messiah coming through the linage of the Tribe of Judah which includes David. So the Tribe of Judah is a kingly tribe. This is why when you read genealogies in the New Testament we see the one in Matthew 1:1 start like this:

Matthew 1:1: The Book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

This is stated that this testimony is to the fact that Jesus is the King. Now we know when Jesus came the “New Season” was ushered in and things changed from type and shadow to reality. Prophesies will be fulfilled as well as the Law because Jesus Himself would fulfill all the requirements of the Law. However something else happened upon the arrival of the Lord and it is one that we speak about but we really have not understood it and without understanding it, we will always read scripture and miss who God is talking to. With the coming of Jesus came the coming of the Kingdom of God and the Holy Nation. This nation has a name and we will find out what it is in a subsequent message. In the next message we will look at this “Immortal 42nd Generation”. What is it and who is it?

Understanding The Physical Nation of Israel

Israel: The Kingdom’s 42nd Immortal Generation

Today’s Focus: Understanding The Physical Nation of Israel

Scripture: Deuteronomy 5:2-5; Exodus 19:5,6

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

Now we know that God made Abraham and his seed beneficiaries of the covenant between God and God that He would have sons. Now we know that it would the seed of Abraham that will ultimately bring Christ. We know that also in Abraham’s seed was Jacob because Abraham was Jacob’s grandfather and Isaac was Jacob’s father. We know that upon Jacob wrestling with God his name we changed to Israel and it will be Israel that would carry the name of God through that age of time.

The physical nation of Israel was very unique in the sense that it was a family made up of fathers and sons (Hebrew for offspring including male and female). Jacob (Israel) had 12 sons. These twelve sons would be twelve patriarchs having children and those children having children and so on. Now you may notice that these descendents of Jacob bared His new name because God referred to the nation as the children of Israel. So not only was the firstborn son, Jacob called Israel but also everyone born of him was called Israel (very important to remember).

Israel would go through some traumatic situations as a nation. Most importantly 432 years in Egypt. They were delivered by the hand of God through the sea. Upon their deliverance they would come to Mt. Sinai and be offered the first covenant to become sons of God which would would make them a Royal Priesthood.

Exodus 19:5,6: Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and KEEP MY COVENANT, then YE SHALL BE a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye SHALL BE unto me a Kingdom of Priests and a Holy Nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

Now we know that there is a covenant being made available because verse 5 says so. But look at what God tells them: IF YOU KEEP MY COVENANT, THEN YOU SHALL BE. In other words, if you do not keep this covenant then you will not be. What will you not be: A KINGDOM OF PRIEST AND HOLY NATION.

Question: DID ISRAEL KEEP OR RECEIVE THIS COVENANT WHICH WOULD MAKE THEM A ROYAL PREISTHOOD?

NO THEY DID NOT! They reject that offer and because of God’s love, immutable counsel, goodness and mercy. God made ANOTHER covenant with the children of Israel in Horeb which would make them a physical nation. This covenant would be the Law of Moses. Let’s prove it.

Deuteronomy 5:2-5: The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb. The Lord MADE NOT THIS COVENANT WITH OUR FATHERS, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day (children of Israel who were delivered from Egypt). The Lord talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire, (I stood between the Lord and you at that time, TO SHEW YOU THE WORD OF THE LORD: FOR YE WERE AFRAID BY REASON OF THE FIRE, AND WENT NOT UP INTO THE MOUNT;)

God told the children of Israel to wash their clothes, sanctify themselves and get ready because the Lord will descend on the mount on the third day. When the third day came, the Lord came on the mount and because of fear, they chose not to come up and receive the first covenant of sonship. The Law of Moses was given to the children of Israel to make them a nation of laws, ordinances and decrees. In addition, God set aside the family of Aaron which is of the tribe of Levi to be the priesthood of the nation. God would tell the nation what to do and how to set up certain things, especially the temple. He gave them a pattern to follow and they followed it exactly as God designed it. He gave them feasts and holidays to observe and perpetually keep.

This entire process of the second covenant is a type and shadow of something to come. In the next message we will look at physical Israel and the coming of the Messiah.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,

Israel: The Kingdom's 42nd Immortal Generation

Israel: The Kingdom’s 42nd Immortal Generation

Today’s Focus: Introduction

Scripture: Genesis 32:24-28

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

This will be, in my eyes, one of the most unique but important topics I have had the privilege to study and to understand. You may ask why are we studying about Israel? We know that they are God’s chosen people and we know that we should love Israel or we will be cursed. We have heard all these things and have read them in scripture but what is the depth of our understanding on this topic. One of the things God has shown me in this season is an importance to understand who you are. This study will open your eyes a little more and moreover you will begin to understand why there is such a focus on shifting from the institutional model of church to the household model. Let’s get right to it.

The first time that we see the word Israel in scripture is when God changes Jacob’s name to Israel. In Genesis 32:24-28 we see the story of Jacob wrestling with a man till the break of day. Jacob thought that he was wrestling with Esau because remember Jacob stole Esau’s birthright and tried to gather all the spoils he could to try to make it right with him. However this “man” whom Jacob was wrestling with touched the hollow of his thigh and his thigh was out of joint. The “man” said “Let me go” and Jacob said “I will not let you go until you bless me”. Now the man asked Jacob what was his name? Jacob told the man his name. Now this is very important because names carried meanings in that day. The name Jacob means “supplanter, offender, crook or deceiver”. Now does this name fit the mold of who Jacob was? Absolutely because he used deception to steal the birthright. So Jacob telling the man his name was also a confession of what Jacob did.

Genesis 32:28: And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

Now this is where it gets good. The changing of one’s name was a symbolic of the change of creation and purpose. The change from Jacob to Israel is to understand that Jacob wrestled with his past sins and overcame them by holding on to God. No longer is Jacob a deceiver (sinner) but now he is a prince (saint). So what does the name Israel mean?

Israel is the word in the Greek spelled Yisrael and this is how the word is broken up:

Yi – This is the masculine Hebrew word for “He”

Sra – comes from the root “sry” which means “to strive or to save”

El – The word for God

Israel in Hebrew is two words: Sarah (rule, strive, fight) and El (God)

So what we have is this meaning for the word Israel:

“He has striven with God or He has been saved by God or God rules”

Do we see this? So Jacob name being changed to Israel is to mean that God rules him and He has been saved by God. What was he saved from? His past sin. Now this is not the end of this story because the man would tell Jacob something very unique that you must remember because it will come back in this study to reveal a powerful revelation. The angel told Jacob in verse 28 that he was a prince and has power with God and with men and hast prevailed. What is a prince? A prince is a son of a king who becomes the inheritor of all of what the king has. Hmm, this should sound very familiar. So Jacob is the firstborn son of Israel. This is crucial to remember because this would become the type and shadow for the Immortal Generation of the Kingdom.

Psalm 127 Summary

Principals of the House of God: A Psalm 127 Study

Today’s Focus: Psalm 127 Summary

Scripture: Psalm 127

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

Let’s summarize this wonderful passage of scripture as it pertains to the principals of the House of God through Psalm 127

Psalm 127:1: The Builder and Keeper

We have seen that it is only the Lord who can build His House. His House is His children, hence the House of God is a family. There are many people who work hard to build up their church memberships and buildings, but if the Lord is not with you, then all of the work will be in vain. Second, the Lord is the keeper of the House. He has given us Holy Spirit to discern the moves of the enemy and ways of men in order for us to be effective watchmen for the family of God.

Psalm 127:2: Eternal Rest

The sons of God realize that they are in their Father’s House and everything of the Father is available to the sons. So the sons understand that their provision and protection come from the Lord and they rest in His presence. The orphan gets up early and stays up late wondering how they will get their provision and protection met by their own ways and this is called the bread of sorrows because all of the toiling produces sorrow.

Psalm 127:3,4

The children of God are the Lord’s. Their obedience and faithfulness makes the Father proud. He molds them and shapes them like a warrior and his arrow. He straightens them with His Word and molds them by His righteousness.

Psalm 127:5

The House of God is the largest family in the Earth. And the Lord has many children whom He has groomed and sharpened and are deploying them like arrows from a warrior to fulfill their destiny. They were designed to hit a certain target of the enemy with pinpoint accuracy to achieve the Will of the Father who has deployed them

So in this series we have seen that it is the Lord who builds and keeps the family of God. It is He who provides for His family and they rest in His power. The children bring honor to Him through their submission and obedience. This has been and wonderful series and I pray that you continue to study and allow the Father to bring you into the knowledge of the House of God because the Kingdom advances as the sons mature. We need to focus on discipleship and maturing the sons of God. IF we do that then people will began to operate in the gifts of the Spirit as the Lord so ordains.
