The Law of the House of God: Standard for the World

Culture of Righteous Rule

Today’s Focus: The Law of the House of God: Standard for the World

Scripture: Matthew 6:10; Exodus 19:5,6; Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:1,2

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

The Law of the House of God is the substance that aligns the purposes of Heaven with the earth. The Law of the House of God adjust the systems of the world to choreograph it’s agenda to suite the purposes of the Eternal. This is why we pray:

Matthew 6:10: They Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven.

We want the rulership of God, His laws, decrees and commands to rule in our lives and when we line up with those laws, God has children who He can operate through to bring His Will to the Earth. His children put on display a different culture and system of living that defies the world’s ways and systems of doing things. For example, in this world people get by taking by force and looking out for oneself. In the Kingdom, the sons receive by giving and laying down their lives for someone else. So we have two systems on the same Earth. But here is the mind blowing aspect to all of this. The Kingdom of God is the original government on Earth. It was the first government on the Earth and will be the last and eternal government. What should this tell us? It tells us that we need to study our constitution and laws in order to live righteously in our Father’s House and His Kingdom. Let me give you a great example:

In our natural parent’s house, there are rules or laws that the children should abide by, just as well the parents should too. These laws frame and align the household to be able to run smoothly and everyone live in harmony.

Proverbs 22:6: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Ephesians 6:1,2: Children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right, Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; that it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

The phrase “train up” in Hebrew is the word “chanak” and it means to discipline. How do we discipline someone? We impose standards and exhibit those standards in our very own lives so that others when they look at us they will see the standard by which they are to follow. When the parents train the children up in the Lord and the children obey and honor the parents, what we have is harmony and a natural standard showing a eternal reality.

The Standard for the Law of the House of God is the Father. He has laid out rules, commandments and decrees for His children. When we align up with those rules (righteousness) then even though the Father is invisible, the natural man can see God in us and through by the standards and laws that we live by. If we did not live by the standards of the Father then the Father could not be seen. For over 4,000 years that standard was suppressed due to the sin of man, but God in all of His love, sent His standard, His Son, The Word of God, Jesus Christ into the Earth to show us the standard again. Now watch this:

There was already a standard in the Earth when Jesus came and it was called the Law. The Law of Moses was given to preserve and protect and make a nation of Israel. Jesus ran into many conflicts with the administrators of the Law, namely the Pharisees. They would on many occasions try to trap Jesus using the Law. But what they could not see and understand that the fulfillment of Law, the giver of that Law was standing before them and now He was ushering in the reality of the current standard that was set called the Law of Moses. Remember the Law was given because of their rejection of the first covenant which would have made them a Holy Nation and a Kingdom of Priests (Exodus 19:5,6). That is the original standard but because their rejection and God’s unfailing love, He gave them the Law which they could live by until the fulfillment of the Law comes and restores the eternal order which makes men mature Sons of God to bring righteous rule to the Earth.

In the next message we will look at the consequences of living through the types and shadows and not the eternal reality.

The Eternal Pattern of the Father for the Sons

Culture of Righteous Rule

Today’s Focus: The Eternal Pattern of the Father for the Sons

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 5:28

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

Now I know this topic is unique and you may ask what is the “eternal pattern”? Before God even created the earth, God knew everything that would be and how it would end. God knew the end from the beginning. God knew that man would sin and be separated from Him. God knew that man would give rule in the earth over to a fallen angel. God also knew that man would have to be saved to fulfill the eternal purpose and hence the Lamb was slain before the foundations of the world but let’s look at this pattern that God is using to bring the Sons of God to their eternal purpose.

The pattern for the process is to begin in eternity, proceed in time, but end in eternity. Now let me give you a great example of this.

The Lamb was slain before the foundation of the world (eternity)

Jesus Christ is the Lamb slain at Calvary (time)

All power and authority in Heaven and Earth is given to Christ Jesus by the Father (eternity)

This entire process ends when Jesus Christ hands up all things to God the Father and the Father will be all in all. Sound weird? Let’s see:

1 Corinthians 5:28: And when all things shall be subdued unto Him (Jesus Christ), then shall the Son (Jesus Christ) also Himself be subject unto Him (Father) that put all things under Him (Jesus), THAT GOD MAY BE ALL IN ALL.

So that is the end of the matter, God being all He is, in all of us being unrestrained by who He is in. All of the divine mandates and intents of the Trinity is concluded in the eternal. How about this thought. Did we not come from eternity? Where are we now? In time. What is our end existence? The eternal. Do we see the pattern?

God in all of His patience waits for righteous men to get right-aligned with heaven and when God finds a man willing to walk by faith and build what He (Father) has on His mind, God then pours out His power and authority (grace) that is needed in that season that will guarantee the outcome of that particular substance. This substance is the Law of the House of God.

In the next message we will look at the Law of the House of God.

The Current World and the God of this World

Culture of Righteous Rule

Today’s Focus: This Current World and the God of this World

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:3,4; Hebrews 1:13,14; 1 John 2:15

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

Now we know that the state of this world is in a bad condition. We know it is because of fatherlessness or sin. Once Adam fell, dominion or control in this world was lost and now it is being managed by a fallen angel named Satan. How do we know this:

2 Corinthians 4:3,4: But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them

So here we have Satan blinding the minds of the unbelievers. How does He try to keep these people under his influence? He does it through worldly systems. Let’s use this scripture to define this:

1 John 2:15: Love not the world, NEITHER THE THINGS THAT ARE IN THE WORLD. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in Him.

Very convicting scripture but it says Love not the world nor the things of the world. Is it saying we should hate the earth? No. Should we hate everything in the Earth? No. When God was creating the earth after everything He created He looked back and said “it is good”. Now on the sixth day when He created man, after he was finished He said “it is very good”. So God was very happy with what He had created and who He had put in the Earth. So why would God say “Love not the world nor the things that are in the world. The answer is in the definition of the word “world”

The word “world” in 1 John 2:15 is the Greek word “kosmos” meaning orderly arrangement. So God tells us to not love the orderly arrangement or ways of the world. Why? Because the ways or systems of this world are under the control of Satan. I know this is a strong statement but if we are progressing to the Satan’s Global Kingdom then He must be in control of the various systems to bring them under his rule. Satan and the other fallen spirits are limited to earth’s realm. Satan has no jurisdiction in the Highest Heaven where the Throne of God is and He has no jurisdiction in the second heaven because that is where he was exiled to from the Highest Heaven. Satan remains in the second heaven because he is a spirit being and he needs a human body to interact with this world in the earth.

So we need to understand our adversary because he studies us. How does he know what buttons to push. How does he know how to get you off your game? Satan is not omnipresent so we need to stop saying “satan made me do it”. One of the spiritual laws God instituted was free will. Satan cannot make you do anything. He can try to influence you, persuade you, set the atmosphere to trap you, but never make you. You must consent freely. Now that is a thought. Now before we close this let me show you some things in scripture about the angels and their position as it relates to the sons of God and the Kingdom.

Hebrews 1:13,14: But to which of the angels said He at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be the heirs of salvation?

The angels have their place and that is to serve the heirs of salvation. Who are the heirs of salvation? The sons of God. Now this brings us to this problem with Satan and the fallen spirits. If their capacity is to only serve, then why do they seek the worship from men? Anytime you are out of your purpose or aspire to be higher than who God created you to be, then you are of no use and evil because you, yourself are seeking self-exaltation and exalting self is inherently evil and anti-Christ.

Destined to Rule

Culture of Righteous Rule

Today’s Focus: Destined to Rule

Scripture: Genesis 1:26; Hebrews 1:10-12; 2:5; Revelation 21:1

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

When we talk about righteous rule we are talking about the central purpose in being deployed to the earth. If we are in the image and after the likeness of the Father then like our Father, we are born to rule. Now rulership is not some free-will and oppressing attribute. Our rulership is constrained because we as the sons are constrained to the Will of the Father. God sends Holy Spirit to lead and guide us and we are to do whatever we hear and see the Father do. This means we walk in truth and in spirit and bring the rulership of God from Heaven to the Earth. Now God gave us the earth to rule in.

Genesis 1:26: Let us make man in our image (spirit), after our likeness (character) and let them have DOMINION over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creepeth on the earth.

So God has placed His sons in the Earth bring the rulership of God (dominion) from Heaven to Earth. We have dominion in the earth. The environment in the Earth that we are to have dominion is one that was set up and controlled from the very beginning.

Hebrews 1:10-12: And Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: They shall perish; but thou remainst; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; and as a vesture shalt thou fold them up and they shall be changed; but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.

In the beginning the foundation of the earth was made by the Lord and everything in it was for our benefit and use. God made things in the earth to represent eternal truths about Him. A great example is how animals migrate season to season. This is a great example of how we need to learn to migrate from season to season in the grace of the Lord. Now the thing that God is doing and been doing since the day of the Lord, Jesus Christ is producing mature sons in the realm of time, that will establish the righteous order of rule in a eternal world to come. The reason God is doing it this way is to expunge sin so that sin cannot taint the new world to come. What is the new world to come:

Revelation 21:1: And I saw a New Heaven and New earth: for the first heaven and first earth were passed away and there was no more sea.

This new heaven and earth will not be subjected to angels but to mature Sons of God. “Hebrews 2:5: For unto the angels hath HE NOT PUT IN SUBJECTION THE WORLD TO COME WHEREOF WE SPEAK.” The new world will be borderless insomuch that it will have it’s operations of righteous rule in the heavens and earth. We as the sons of God are destined to rule but we must first come in the maturity of Christ

Now we have talked about the world to come, what about this world? We will discuss this in the next message.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,

The Cry of the Orphan

The Mind of Christ

Today’s Focus: The Cry of the Orphan

Scripture: Lamentations 5

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

I can only imagine the hurt the Jeremiah felt as he said these words. It is my sincere prayer that all who profess and believe on the name of Jesus, I pray you come out of your mindset of being a orphan and come into the Mind of Christ which is Son. I am going to type this entire chapter because I urge you to read it and if the Lord convicts you in your heart about the culture you are living in, I urge you this day to repent and live the life God, your Father, has designed for you to live.

Lamentations 5:

1. Remember O Lord, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.

2. OUR INHERITANCE IS TURN TO STRANGERS, OUR HOUSES TO ALIENS

3. WE ARE ORPHANS AND FATHERLESS, OUR MOTHERS ARE AS WIDOWS

4. We have druken our water for money; our wood is solid unto us.

5. Our necks are under persecution: WE LABOUR, AND HAVE NO REST

6. We have given the hand to the Egyptians and to the Assyrians (World), TO BE SATISFIED WITH BREAD.

7. Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their inquities

8. Servants have ruled over us: there is none that doth deliver us out of their hand.

9. WE GAT OUR BREAD WITH THE PERIL OF OUR LIVES BECAUSE OF THE SWORD OF THE WILDERNESS

10. Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.

11. They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah.

12. Princes are hanged by their hand: the faces of elders were not honored

13. They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood

14. THE ELDERS HAVE CEASED FROM THE GATE, THE YOUNG MEN FROM THEIR MUSICK

15. THE JOY OF OUR HEART IS CEASED: OUR DANCE IS TURNED INTO MOURNING

16. The crown was fallen from our head: Woe unto us, that we have sinned!

17. FOR THIS OUR HEART IS FAINT; FOR THESE THINGS OUR EYES ARE DIM.

18. Because the mountain of Zion is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.

19. Thou, O Lord, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation

20. Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever and forsake us so long time?

21. TURN THOU US UNTO THEE, O LORD, AND WE SHALL BE TURNED; RENEWED OUR DAYS AS OF OLD. BUT THOU HAST UTTERLY REJECTED US; THOU ART VERY WROTH AGAINST US.

Now in Jeremiah’s if this is what is in his heart about Israel then, what do you think he would feel today? While it is not late, turn and repent from the culture of the orphan. This whole entire chapter is the cry of an orphan, the fatherless child. But what is unique is the fact that the child is crying out for the Father to be fathered in every way. There are many of you who will read this message and we as the Body of Christ need to take an individualized gut-check about our relationship with the Father. Lamentations 5 is the cry of the son who has lost his identity, moreover the Mind of Christ. When God sent Jesus he restored the patriarchal order of the House of God, the culture of the Son and the culture of the Kingdom to the Earth. When you are a son of God, you have the Mind of Christ. You and the Father are one and you live in the Kingdom of God. The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof and if the earth belongs to our Father and we are in His House can you imagine what is available to you as a son?

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,

Calvin Calhoun, Jr.

Servanthood

The Mind of Christ

Today’s Focus: Operating in the Mind of Christ: Servanthood

Scripture: John 17:22; John 14:16-18; Matthew 6:31; Romans 8:14-16

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

To be a servant of the Father is the highest order in life. This requires us to always be in a state of humility and meekness because that is the spirit in which God can use us for His Will. The very fact that you are a son of God, you are sent from the Father to put on display the nature and character of the Father in the earth. The Father does this by sending Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus into our spirit which is the confirmation of our sonship (Romans 8:14-16). Now we have oneness with the Father, Spirit to spirit. This is the glory that Jesus desired to have with us in John 17:22: “And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; THAT THEY MAY BE ONE, EVEN AS WE ARE ONE.”

Now Jesus said He did not come to BE SERVE, BUT TO SERVE. Remember Christ is our template and example. Hence God did not send His children to be served, He sent us to serve. We serve Him through submission, self-denial and obedience summed up into one word, worship. As a son we do not worry about the day to day cares because we are led by the Spirit and it is the Father that takes care of our every need. Our prayers are not about provision and protection (Matthew 6:31) but they are about the Kingdom coming (manifestation) and the Will of God being done. We have been given dominion as a King and Priest. Jesus Christ is our brother and the Holy Spirit is our connection to the House of God. Let’s close on this beautiful scripture.

John 14:16-18: And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter (Holy Spirit), that He may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of Truth (Holy Spirit); whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for HE DWELLETH WITH YOU, AND SHALL BE IN YOU. I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU COMFORTLESS (FATHERLESS, ORPHAN): I WILL COME TO YOU.

The abiding of the Holy Spirit allows us to operate in the Mind of Christ and serve our Father to prove what is His perfect Will. Jesus said he would not leave us comfortless. In the last message of this series we will end it with understanding the mentality of the comfortless child or orphan. Remember the mindset of the orphan is preoccupied with their provision and protection and they despise correction. They see correction as abuse and they only look out for themselves. They are in no position to serve God because it will require them to deny themselves and trust Him to meet their provision and protection.

Attributes of the Sons of God

The Mind of Christ

Today’s Focus: Operating in the Mind of Christ: Attributes of the Sons of God

Scripture: Philippians 2:1-8; Ephesians 2:4-6; Romans 6:4

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

If we are to operate in the Mind of Christ then there are some attributes we must have and some attributes we must sacrifice and kill because they will hinder our move in the Body of Christ. Let me give you the scripture and then we will show the attributes of the sons of God operating in the Mind of Christ.

Philippians 2:1-8: If there be any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be LIKEMINDED HAVING THE SAME LOVE, BEING OF ONE ACCORD, OF ONE MIND. Let nothing be done through STRIFE OR VAINGLORY; BUT IN LOWLINESS OF MIND LET EACH ESTEEM OTHER BETTER THAN THEMSELVES. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. LET THIS MIND BE IN YOU, WHICH WAS ALSO IN CHIRST JESUS: WHO BEING IN THE FORM OF GOD, THOUGHT IT NOT ROBBERY TO BE EQUAL WITH GOD: BUT MADE HIMSELF OF NO REPUTATION, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, HE HUMBLED HIMSELF AND BECAME OBEDIENT UNTO DEATH, EVEN THE DEATH OF THE CROSS.

The first attribute we must destroy if we are to walk in the Mind of Christ is selfishness. Selfishness is the number one indicator that you do not have the Mind of Christ. Moreover if you are selfish then you cannot deny yourself and the culture you exhibit is of a fatherless child or orphan. So we must be of a self-denying mindset to operate in the Mind of Christ.

Philippians 2:6-8 speaks to the humility of Christ. When the passage says “But made Himself of no reputation” He was humbly submitted fully to the Father’s Will. In addition Philippians 2:3 speaks of not doing anything through vainglory or self glory but do things in lowliness of mind which is humility.

In everything that Christ did He thought about others. Now this attribute makes and breaks a lot of people. The scriptures tell us to esteem others better than ourselves. Here is a thought. God who is life, humbled Himself and became obedient to death. For each and every one of us to come to Christ required a repentant heart. This requires humility because you recognized that sin was ruling your life and you no longer wanted to serve sin but serve the Father. Let me show you this scripture:

Romans 6:4; Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life.

Now if Christ is raised from the dead and we are to be resurrected also, where are we raised to? The scripture says a newness of life. But what does that mean?

Ephesians 2:4-6: But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened (given life) us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved); AND HATH RAISED US UP TOGETHER AND MADE US SIT TOGETHER IN HEAVENLY PLACES IN CHRIST JESUS.

Now knowing this can work in your favor and against you at the same time if you are not in the Mind of Christ. The good point is that you have a viewpoint to life from the right hand of Majesty in Heaven because you are in Christ Jesus. Now it works against you when you think more highly of yourself from that position and look down upon your fellow brothers and sisters. Now this brings me to this unique point. We must become like Jesus and leave the heavenly position and in humility and servanthood, overcome the world by putting down our soul and its desires. When we are able to do that, the Father then sends us out. We must always remain humble and meek and in the place of a son.

In the next message we will look at servanthood and show you how this is the highest order of your life, service to the Father.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,

Affects of Fear

The Mind of Christ

Today’s Focus: Operating in the Mind of Christ: The Affects of Fear

Scripture: Philippians 1:27-2:8; 1 John 4:18

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

1 John 4:18: There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear; because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect.

So now the sons of God are not to fear because we are bonded by love. We are not to torment or hurt one another but lift one another up in love and in truth. We as the sons of God should not fear anything, especially a demon because our brother, Jesus Christ has authority over all beings, especially demons and fallen angels. Now let’s look at what Paul said to the church at Philippi because it was very unique when I read it and when I got the interpretation it really put things into perspective.

Philippians 1:28: And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.

Paul starts off by telling the church that we are not to be afraid of our adversaries. Now, that fact that we stand in the power of God tells the enemy something and about themselves. The scripture says it is a token of perdition to them (enemy). The word perdition in the Greek is the word “apoleia” meaning ruin, loss or destruction. So when the sons of God stand in the power of God, fearing nothing it tells the enemy that certain destruction will be upon them. What a concept. Please understand we are eternal and death is simply a transfer from the realm of time to the realm of the eternal. If you are in Christ, what do we have to fear. The death and destruction of our enemies is the lake of fire. Even they themselves fear this and this is why they are coming against the sons of God so hard to defile us because they want us to suffer the same thing they will suffer.

This confidence that we have in the Lord allows us in the midst of our enemies to fellowship at the table of the Lord in His presence in front of the enemy. The Lord will deliver us from all of our troubles. All we have to do is trust Him and worship Him at all times. Whenever we feel fear come into our lives, this is the time we need to get closer to the Lord and rely more and more on Him. Fear will take you, mentally out of the game and when fear has control, it is hard to see hope in the circumstance. However we have a Father who knows all and will protect His children and know this we should have confidence in the things we do for the Lord knowing that our enemies will face certain destruction if they come against the House of God.

In the next message we will start to look at the second half of the scripture and see some attributes we should have in the Mind of Christ.

Peace, Love and Grace from the Father,

Operating in the Mind of Christ: Unity

The Mind of Christ

Today’s Focus: Operating in the Mind of Christ: Unity

Scripture: Philippians 1:27-2:8

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

As you may see from the scripture we will based this message out of the letter to the church at Philippi. So let’s get right to it.

Philippians 1:27-30:”Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you or else be absent, I may hear your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation and that of God. For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on Him, but also to suffer for His sake; Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and no hear to be in me.

The first thing Paul deals with when we look at operating in the Mind of Christ is that our conversations need to of the gospel of Christ. Now if we just think about the type of conversations we have throughout the day, how much of it deals with Christ? How much of it is profitable spiritually? Being sons of God we are always on display at all times for the world. So our conversations need to be of Christ so that no one can say anything against your speech. Paul wrote a letter to Titus and said this: Titus 2:8: “Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed having no evil thing to say of you.” This passage of scripture is about sound doctrine and I encourage every believer to read and get an understanding of what sound doctrine is.

Next in verse 27, Paul admonishes the church to stand fast in one spirit, with one mind and strive together for the faith of the gospel. This requires us getting from beyond our denominations, worldly culture, and ethnicities for all of this to happen. The one thing the church has in common is the Spirit of God which is Son. We are all sons of God and we are all spirits that are united by the Spirit and placed in the Body of Christ to operate as one unit. This is why the revelation of the House of God is so vital to understand because it takes all of our worldly limitations and erases them from being barriers to maturity in the House of God. We are to work together in the unity of faith. Now if we have people perverting the Word of God then of course we cannot work together because it will cause confusion. God is not the author of confusion. When we work together we need to be in the mindset of Spirit-first and be lead by the Spirit of God. When all of us work together in the unity of the Spirit then we will see the power of God move. I can remember when the early church prayed together in Acts 4, the power that was released from heaven to the earth was spectacular and God was to work on our behalf but we must learn to work together. Not everyone is at the same level of maturity but the Spirit of God can use us to talk to one another at any level of maturity but the scripture says God desires us to all mature until we all come in the full stature or exact representation of Christ in the Earth.

In the next message we will continue this discussion and look at Philippians 1:28 and discuss the mindset of fear and the sons of God.

Mentality of the Sons of God

The Everlasting Father

Today’s Focus: Mentality of the Sons of God

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 2:11-16; Isaiah 11:1,2

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

How should a son of God think when it comes to the mind of Christ? Believe it or not the scriptures clearly lay it out for us but it is so hard for many to come into that place in their life because they do not want to let go of the world. Now let’s set this up.

The first place one must start with understanding how to think like a son of God is with oneself and your soul. One must kill our souls when it comes to the mind of Christ. Our soul is where we express our emotions, and where we think and work things out. Our souls have emotions, a will and an intellect. If we can suppress our souls then we can overcome the world. This effectively is called self-denial. This is where the demonic attack and try to get you to go against God. Why? Your soul is where you have free-will. It is your free-will center. God was so wonderful when He created man because He gave us a choice to choose Him or not. Of course this decision comes with consequences. God did not desire robots and no true parent wants their children to be robots. However, the Father wants us to freely choose Him and choose to worship Him. Now the spiritual mind is completely different.

The spiritual mind has emotions, which is worship, a will which is to do the Father’s Will and an intellect, which is wisdom. We know that wisdom is one of the seven spirits of Christ (Isaiah 11:1,2). So the spirit has a mind and it is called the Mind of Christ. Let’s look at this for a better understanding.

1 Corinthians 2:11-16: For what man knoweth the things of man, save the spirit of man which is in him? EVEN SO THE THINGS OF GOD KNOWETH NO MAN, BUT THE SPIRIT OF GOD. Now we have received , NOT THE SPIRIT OF THE WORLD, BUT THE SPIRIT WHICH IS OF GOD; THAT WE MAY KNOW THE THINGS THAT ARE FREELY GIVEN TO US OF GOD. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but WHICH THE HOLY GHOST TEACHETH COMPARING SPIRITUAL THINGS WITH SPIRITUAL. BUT THE NATURAL MAN RECIEVETH NOT THE THINGS OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned, But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE MAY INSTRUCT HIM? BUT WE HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST.

This scripture sums up this entire message a carnal man cannot receive the things of the Spirit because they are only revealed Spirit to spirit. Now if you have not submitted to the rulership of Christ and you claim to be a believer, you cannot receive revelation because you are soul-lead and not Spirit-lead.

In the next message we will start looking at the Mind of Christ and how He operates within us to bring us into maturity.

New Teaching Series: The Mind of Christ

The Mind of Christ

Today’s Focus: Introduction

Scripture: Philippians 2:1-8; John 4:23,24; 17:22; Genesis 1:26; Galatians 5:22,23; Romans 8:16

Greetings Kingdom Citizens

When we think about the mind of Christ, what comes to mind? Do we think about the brain of Christ being put into us? Are we thinking that it is a mindset to live by? In this series we want to clarify this subject so that we as the sons of God can truly understand what it means to have the mind of Christ.

God’s intentions for us and it has always been, is for us to worship Him. We were created for that very reason, but the unique thing is we have to be like Him to worship Him. What does it mean to be like Him? In the Garden, before the fall, God had what we desired.

Genesis 1:26: And God said, let us make man IN OUR IMAGE, AFTER OUR LIKENESS: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth on the earth.

So to be like Him, is to bare His image and have His character, ways and nature (likeness). His image is one thing. His likeness is another. There are so many people carrying the image of God but if you look at the fruit they are bearing it is hard to tell. To have His likeness is to bear the fruit of His image. His image is clearly Spirit and so we bear the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22,23). How we bear this fruit is called worship.

Worship has taken on so many meanings but to sum up worship, it is conforming to the image of the thing or person you hold in reverence. In other words, no longer do you look like yourself or resemble anything about yourself but you conform to the image and become the exact representation of the person or thing. Now I know this is different from standing in front of a congregation leading songs and we have to get back to the heart of worship. Singing songs is not going to help us make it in, but becoming the exact representation of the Father will. Look at this scripture about the true worshippers of the Father:

John 4:23,24: But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him MUST WORSHIP HIM IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH.

The only way you can worship the Lord is first in spirit. This means your spirit must be connected to Holy Spirit. Only a child of God can truly worship the Father because they know Him. Watch this scripture:

Romans 8:16: The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God

So first you must carry the Spirit of God within you and the Spirit of God testifies with your spirit. What does He testify? The truth. This is the second portion. You must know the truth. Funny, the truth is a person. Jesus said: I am the way, the truth and the life. So you must come into a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and follow His decrees and commandments. In doing this you walk in the Spirit and Truth and when you do that then the fruit of the Spirit can be visibly seen from an invisible eternal reality within you. With that said, this requires us to do two things. Deny ourselves and be obedient to the Spirit. This is the truth about worship. Yes we have so many different ways of worshipping the Lord in song but it all boils down to self-denial and obedience. If those two things are not happening then all the songs in the world are sung in vain because even in song we must worship in truth and in spirit. To understand this you must understand the concept and heart of the sons of God identity:

John 17:22: And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one.

In the next step we will start look at the process of how the sons of God should think when it comes to having the mind of Christ.
